The 4/10 GreatSchools rating doesn’t do this amazing school justice. My daughter is in her 3rd year of Venetia Valley’s bilingual Spanish program and Ioves it (1 of only 2 bilingual public schools in all of Marin). It’s incredible to see how much Spanish she’s learned and how well she can converse in just a couple years. She’s been fortunate to have some very talented teachers who care deeply about the kids and also know how to calmly manage a large classroom. We also greatly appreciate the LEAP afterschool program which provides care until 630PM, which is critical for my wife and I who both work. The school has had its share of leadership changes over the last few years but the current administration is solid and works hard to partner with the PTA to create an incredible school. We’re lucky and proud to be a Venetia Valley family.

principal lacks leadership and communication skills. Lots of behavioral issues including violence on campus, littering all over the community shopping centers and local neighborhoods, doing drugs in cars before and after school. The TL High School principal personally goes out herself to check on traffic control, safety, and construction. Joe D the SRHS principal is rarely seen - he might consider shadowing TL’s principal for a few days to see how a high functioning administration works and how to also work well with your community and neighbors and how to keep your students safe. There are SR students literally jumping over metal fences at construction sites and running for cross country class in the middle of a high traffic road — running in the middle of the road against traffic up a blind curve. It’s complete chaos.

Wonderful school! Both of my kids got into the college of their choice. Great teachers!
