Santa Venetia

The 4/10 GreatSchools rating doesn’t do this amazing school justice. My daughter is in her 3rd year of Venetia Valley’s bilingual Spanish program and Ioves it (1 of only 2 bilingual public schools in all of Marin). It’s incredible to see how much Spanish she’s learned and how well she can converse in just a couple years. She’s been fortunate to have some very talented teachers who care deeply about the kids and also know how to calmly manage a large classroom. We also greatly appreciate the LEAP afterschool program which provides care until 630PM, which is critical for my wife and I who both work. The school has had its share of leadership changes over the last few years but the current administration is solid and works hard to partner with the PTA to create an incredible school. We’re lucky and proud to be a Venetia Valley family.

Really great academics, amazing community with lots of events and good connections. Just a warm place overall, supportive and kind teachers, outgoing and friendly students, fair and accommodative administrators. Holidays are a blast, there's lots of food and well wishes, you don't need to be Jewish to feel like a part of everything and there is no way to really tell who is or isn't. The Maker's Lab is awesome, the music program is also fantastic, and for a small school they do pretty well for sports and more importantly they really teach your kid to love the game.
