5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere has been no certified special education teacher at RCHS for 1.5 years!!! Two quit over the summer and they never notified the families. And all of this was after the abysmal excuse for education during 2020 when teachers just didn't teach. Special ed kids (and all kids) need to be in a classroom NOT watching a computer screen for 20-minutes then doing nothing for the rest of the day.I've followed up with the principals, the director of special education and the asst. director of special education and they all kind of sing the same song. Your kid is important to us...but not that important. Not enough to pull a teacher from another school. Not enough to have a fully credentialed administrator lower themselves to teach rather that administrate. The teacher's union and the admin have parents by the short-hairs. 4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe PTA is the downfall of the school. The few parents (and teachers) that are active seem to be playing the same tune year after year and unable to recruit new people. The teachers and staff are very engaged with the students and take an active part in making sure the students "get it." The campus is big with a lot of outdoor space including an expansive garden. "Easy access to north and south HWY 101. Back roads to Petaluma can be faster during rush hour. Bus system between counties and Golden Gate transit to SF is reliable. Smart Train station close and free"

"For the most part (unless you live in West Cotati) everything is very walkable.. actually even if you live in West Cotati there is a tunnel under the freeway.. So walk everywhere and buses too. Great nite life yet quiet and small townish- except at rush hour the main roads are packed! "

"Sonoma State is a big part of the economy/community here so there's several bars and a handful of fast food restaurants. the city-Cotati- is destitute financially so be aware of getting parking tickets for ridiculous minor infractions even on a quiet residential street. There are very strict dog/leash laws enforced and you will get ticketed for that too if not careful. Dogs are not even allowed on a leash in the park downtown at farmers market. "
