Awful school. So glad to finally take our child out. First off the receptionists are the rudest people I’ve ever experienced greating people into a school. I once watched as an office worker made fun of my autistic child behind his back right in front of me! The administration is a joke. Time after time my child gets bullied and the administration sees it on their cameras yet give the bulling students no repercussions. They make my child feel as if he is doing something wrong. I admit there are a few decent teachers trying their hardest but the school holds any of their attempts back. Also the safety is a joke. Picking up my child after school is a nightmare. The parents race up and down broadway blvd with no regard for the children’s safety and the school does absolutely nothing about it. The only time I have ever seen faculty in front of the school when the children get out is when they stand at the neighboring apartments telling the children not to sit on their stairs. IMO you should avoid taking your children to this school if you value their safety.

My daughter is part of the Japanese Dual Language program at Verdugo Woodlands Elementary School. Due to COVID, she had limited school experience before starting JDL Kindergarten. She began with some initial challenges, but under Mr. Jaffe’s excellent guidance, she made significant progress. Mrs. Ingram and Mrs.Tanabe, responsible for 1st and 2nd graders, are equally exceptional. My husband and I frequently volunteer, and the entire school community, including the dedicated teachers, administrators, and principal, is truly outstanding. We're grateful our daughter can thrive in such an exceptional learning environment!The program offers instruction in Japanese for 50% of the day and 50% in English. Furthermore, students have the chance to immerse themselves in Japanese culture by celebrating festivals and learning the language. It’s important to note that a Japanese background is not a prerequisite for enrollment. This program provides an excellent opportunity to learn a second language.

I have a great experience in this school.I am ex-Wilson student.By being in Wilson it made me feel I was in my second home.It has amazing teachers and staff who are helping students.Overall it is great school I would take children to this middle school I would recommend this school.
