"There are truly so many great churches in Murray or around the area. There is one for every person and every family. I truly and honestly suggest getting plugged into one of them. "
  • Trulia User
"Very friendly. Gem of a community! Very lovingly cared for and maintained. Owners go the extra mile. "
  • Eddie.phelps
"Great place to live and to raise kids. Great school systems and public activities. Murray State University is here with many activities for people including college sports. "
  • Jonathan W.
"We have a local dog park that most people take their dogs too. So there isn’t a lot of aggressive dogs."
  • Hannah M.
"I own a car and drive everywhere. While I see some people using bikes and there are some forms of public transportation, but it is limited. "
  • Kimberly.mason6625
"I live 4 min away from my work. It’s a straight shot. Traffic isn’t bad unless it’s noon. Then it can get a bit congested. "
  • Jennifer_earls
"No real public transport and it is a 10 minute drive to downtown ............................................................................... "
  • Elena R.
"Everyone walks their dogs. It would s safe and there are sidewalks almost everywhere. Plus, the city Park has a Pet park for little dogs and big dogs separated. Very nice"
  • Kimberly.mason6625
"They’ve started renovating downtown and having events on the court square. It is a small community, but there are lots of businesses that participate to make it fun. "
  • Susan S.
"There needs to be a all weather trolley system as we have many senior citizens who would utilize a trolley system as well as college students to get to campus from their homes in older Murray areas. The biggest and most dangerous problem are trucking and cars speeding down 641 and past all the restaurants while residents walk to lunch, classes, work, or the park."
  • Hillary S.
"Get to most any place in town in less than 10 minutes. It is about 15 minutes to Land Between the Lakes, 2 hours from Nashville and about 50 minutes from Paducah. "
  • Trinity L.
"This is a great community to raise your children in. The schools are phenomenal. It’s nice to live in a community that kids can still play in the front yard and ride their bike down the street."
  • Trinity J.
"Been here just a short time but feels like forever. The people are friendly and don’t know a stranger."
  • Sabrina B.
"Great. Old Family Feel, Friendly Safe. Great Schools. Easy to get places. Best place to raise kids!!"

  • Patricia S.
"msu mens basketball games and high school football games are my favorite! We were named in the top 100 as the friendliest small town. "
  • Christopher W.
"It’s pretty simple and quite. Nice neighbors and neighborhood. There are no side walks in the neighborhood. But there are streetlights. The place is wonderful for college students. "
  • Sydney R.
"This is a great area for dog owners. I see many dogs walking on campus, and Murray has recently installed little bag stations for dogs. "
  • Sydney C.
"Since I live a few miles out, the only ways of transportation are through carpool or just simply driving my own vehicle. "
  • Dana K. B.
"everyone around me is wonderful, I love my church family, and it's a college town giving my children a great education. "
  • Mjf m.
"It’s a small university town and growing. It seems more progressive than the nearby cities. It’s near Kentucky lake which gives access to both the Tennessee and Ohio rivers."
  • Kateohome
"I grew up in Murray, KY. Where my friends’ parents’ and mine grew up together and, in some cases, our grandparents’ did as well. I always describe Murray as a tight knit ā€œNorman Rockwellā€ type community. It’s rare that I walk into a store and do not know someone by name. Neighbors look out for neighbors, it’s extremely safe (I believe my parent started locking their doors 10-15 years ago and that was only at night. Kids can safely play outside without a worry. The university, Murray State University is an exceptional school with man award winning departments and athletics make the weekends a fun ā€œcommunityā€ feel, as we all tailgate before the game. I cannot think of a better place to grow up. I love it here. It’s just got that ā€œsomething specialā€ that’s indescribable. We are also 10-15 minutes from Kentucky Lake, where many people have boats and/or cabins. If you like a family feel community, where you would be welcomed with open arms.....Murray, Kentucky is waiting for you and your family."
  • Baileykeller

"I like living at the end of the Block. There's no cars passing by my house or no people accidentally walking by my house. I have lots of Privacy "
  • Susan S.
"Very nice house, great schools, and wonderful place to raise kids or retire. This home is very nice and also has security system, remote entry garage, and new bathrooms, and 30 year Timberline dimensional roof 3 years ago and new gutters 3 years ago. A quality house with large living areas and fireplace, Florida room, and patio. Great place to live and very few in this price range in Murray, Ky. "
