What Locals Say about Pocket

Review Highlights

Pocket, Sacramento: calm, river-hugging haven with parks, trails, friendly vibes, and quick city access. People love the safety, walkability, parks, river paths, and easy access to shops and downtown. They gripe about rush-hour traffic, few events, rising costs, limited groceries, and off-leash dogs.

"It’s lighter than the Bay Area, but getting heavier as time goes by in one section of the freeway. The drive into the Bay Area is particularly heavy going towards Davis on the causeway."

"There are several parks nearby, the Sacramento River is a short walk away. If you enjoy birds, there are beautiful birds all over the water way. There are bike trails that surround the pocket. The conveniences around this neighborhood are numerous. The pocket was well thought out and a great place to live."

"Nice neighborhood but becoming over priced. Lived here since 2001. Neighborhood is becoming a real NIMBLY neighborhood. Not as diverse and friendly as it once was. "

"They can walk along the River. There are lots of green belts. Sadly, many dog owners are irresponsible and don’t pick up their dog’s feces. (Mostly because they also violate leash laws and don’t leash their pets.) If you come to our neighborhood, bring your dogs, but please leash them and pick up after them!"

"Dog owners love people to be polite and kind to them and their animals at all times. However, being out in public in this type of nice neighborhood. Most people feel safe to walk their animals along the Levy and side walks. I enjoy living in pocket and seeing everyone happy ! "
