What Locals Say about Rockridge

  • Trulia User
"From what I know the schools are not great, but there are plenty of places for the kids to play and it’s a very family and child friendly neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"Access to Bart and bus is very easy in there the College Avenue area but not once you get up on the hills. Fortunately the freeway entrance to the 13 and 24 runs right in the middle of the neighborhood so going to SF for other parts of Oakland or Berkeley is very easy and quick. Traffic is bad around rush-hour, and neighbors are generally very considerate about sharing very narrow roads."
  • Carol H.
"Family friendly neighborhood with everything you need a short walk away. Great elementary school and a true sense of community. "
  • Trulia User

  • Chris C.
"BART is within walking distance of most homes. There are multiple entrances to the freeways to SF and to the Caldecott Tunnel."
  • Chris C.
"This is a very walkable neighborhood with diverse architecture and easy access to BART, buses, and freeways. College Ave, the heart of Rockridge, abounds with gourmet shops, coffee houses, restaurants, beer pubs, and all urban amenities."
  • Chris C.
"The elementary school has good ratings. There are quiet streets for bicycle riding."
  • Claire H.
"This is a great neighborhood to start and grow a family. I see families participating in block parties, and it's safe at all hours of the day. Halloween and July 4th are the biggest neighborhood events of the year. Families fully commit to blocking off the streets for family fun with music, potlucks, and costumes."
