What Locals Say about Fairview Park

  • Julia C Oliveira
"its a walkable neighborhood close to shops restaurants public transportation grocery stores and park"
  • Trulia User
"The area at one point in time was safe in a good neighborhood to live in. It’s not too bad now it’s pretty safe but since the pandemic, I have noticed more packages being picked up and taken from porch steps, cars having their wheels taken off of them And lack of police patrols. Overall, it’s still a decent neighborhood to live in but since the pandemic things have gotten a little worse, hopefully things will get better soon."

"I’m sure to live in this area. It is very beautiful lots of big beautiful houses. Can’t wait to look at some of the open houses this"

"The neighborhood repertory theater in downtown Berkeley. The Ashby BART station parking lot offers weekend entertainment plus swap meet businesses and farmers market. Downtown Berkeley every Thursday is a farmers market which makes it good for local farmers and grocery store owners to sell their produce."
  • Kathleennadel
"Monthly potlucks, lots of kids around, friendly neighbors and we’re all connected on the topic of emergency preparedness. "

"The neighborhood is good for adults not many children in the area. It’s a good place for young to muddle aged people. The neighborhood is with on walking distance to A/C Transit & Bart, Whole Foods, dry cleaners, eateries and pet stores. The neighborhood is pretty safe. "

"I’ve lived here for 3 years, and find people friendly and caring. The street seems very safe. I love being close to college Ave., and to all the shops."
  • "Each Oakland neighborhood has its own special appeal but Rockridge has to be one of the most desirable areas. The commute - take the casual car pool in the morning and you can be in downtown SF in 30. If you have to run into the office at night or in non peak traffic it is 12 minutes to Market St. Of course BART or ACTransit is also a great option, Granted San Francisco has renowned restaurants but Rockridge restaurants such as Town Hall, Oliveto, A Cote to name a few, compete well. Plus Rockridge has a fine collection of dive bars - McNallys, George & Walts, Kingfish and the Conga Room. Although this is one of the most desirable areas in Oakland, and one of the most expensive, everyone is friendly. Neighborhoods have regular block parties and everyone says hello at Safeway or Trader Joes. "
