What Locals Say about Grosse Pointe

  • Teviny2k
"Great pace to live and the services are great. They do everything from garbage to leaves. The restaurants are excellent. "
  • Teviny2k
"This neighborhood offers the best of both worlds: a close-knit, welcoming community with the charm of a small town, paired with the convenience and energy of a big city. Tree-lined streets, friendly neighbors, and a strong sense of belonging make it feel like home from the moment you arrive. Despite its modest size, the area is rich with amenities—local shops, parks, schools, and cultural spots that rival those found in much larger urban centers."
  • Sheena B.
"Really nice houses! Great private parks and outdoor activities, close to downtown Detroit and family oriented "
  • Amirrezalatif

  • Jackie B.

  • David s
"Safe neighborhood. Shopping is convenient. Family neighborhood. Lacks hardware store and a fair priced gas station. "
  • Arun Sivan
"I commute to Dearborn for work. It's not bad. I take side streets to i75 to I 96 and then to i94. taking I94 directly is not for me. Too much stop n go traffic till you get past i75 interchange. Driving to Detroit is easy, I just take Jefferson Avenue all the way. "
  • M.cimini
"It is a welcoming and family oriented place. There are a lot of amenities close by, and a sense of community"
  • Marcoamaceri
"Fantastic community with a rich history, geographically close to downtown Detroit while still having a decidedly small town feeling to it. Great schools, public parks, shopping, dining, mature trees, architectural character, and access to Lake St. Clair. Best of all, however, are the people. "
  • Plwenzler
"Sidewalks and a lot of dog walkers. People pick up the dogs droppings There are occasional boxes dispensing pick up bags for use on a walk. Beautiful neighborhood "

Close to groceries, salons, clothing stores, doctors and medical facilities, dentists, Neighborhood Club, parks and recreation. 10 minutes from downtown Detroit. "I grew up in GPShores, moved away after getting married and returned (now to GPCity) before my oldest started kindergarten. I loved the Shores, but the City is even better. I love Maire Elem. I love being in walking distance to both the Hill and the Village. The "South-end" is just awesome (even from a North alum). "
  • Dex B.
