We unenrolled my child last year. I was deeply alarmed by what became clear when they were enrolled at a new school. Her reading comprehension was abysmal, as was her spelling level for her age/grade. As for french, she knew basics but nothing beyond that! French relatives and online programming have taught them more. Teachers also didn't inform me of any issues with spelling or reading, even though I can see examples of this in previous school work. I should have paid more attention. That's my responsibility. But there's absolutely no excuse for this on their part. Additionally, they weren't proactive in resolving bullying and gendered harassment our child experienced, and didn't stay the course in creating healthier emotional development. Don't invest in this school. If multi cultural, bilingual learning is important to you, or actually necessary, please seek other resources in Philadelphia, or the surrounding areas. Find french tutoring. Enroll them in local programs. I'm speaking from my heart, from my family experience, and I wish you and your family the best in making these very difficult decisions.

Yeah, this school isn’t the best, the new teachers are nice but a lot of the older ones are very lazy at teaching. They don’t care about the students mental health or well being and offer no counseling whatsoever. The unfairness to the upper grades is insane, they treat the elementary students way better then they do middle school, although they are working harder.

Waldron Mercy has been a wonderful experience or my daughter. She started in 1st grade and will graduate this Spring. She attended through the COVID-19 pandemic and I am so grateful that she did not miss a beat. She is extremely well-prepared for high school and beyond. The academics are challenging but I think she will be well-suited for what's to come down the road. She has developed wonderful friendships with a diverse group of classmates. The music and performing arts programs are absolutely amazing and she has enjoyed singing in the choir (and traveling to Canada for a competition!), participating in the plays and singing in the Winter and Spring shows. She has enjoyed the "Little Buddy" program and helping with admissions tours. Waldron has given her a tremendous amount of self-confidence. We would highly recommend.
