The school along with most public schools are not focusing on education. You only have to look at the recent principal hire. She has no real experience in the position. This school used be a 9/10 on great schools. You would think the board would have to looked to hire someone with a proven track record of turning around poor performance. They are more concerned with allowing boys to use the girls bathroom.

The school is very proactive about encouraging progress, responsibility and independence. Mix of good and bad teachers, like any school. If your child doesn't fit the exact prototype student they're expecting, they get left to pretty well fend for themselves. Was warned with stories from other parents with children with IEPs that parents had to fight tooth & nail for. Or the children just get turned down outright, when they clearly need support. Our family had our own challenges when my children were there, one is still in 3rd grade currently. Transferred from another state and they took away half of my one child's support on the first IEP review. It's all about $$ and shameful. I'll be seeking legal assistance if it continues.

Mendham Country Day School is truly an amazing place! I have two children have attended this school since infancy and are now part of the middle and elementary school programs. It has been an incredible environment for them to grow, learn, and thrive.What sets this school apart is its commitment to meeting each student at their individual skill level, rather than holding them back based on age or grade. My son, for example, is currently working five years above grade level in Math and two years above in Reading/Language Arts. The academic flexibility and challenge provided have allowed him to flourish.The staff is supportive, nurturing, and sets high—but realistic—expectations that empower students to reach their full potential. The school provides personalized support, helping each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.The student community is kind, respectful, and inclusive. Any interpersonal or social issues are addressed promptly and thoughtfully. The administration collaborates closely with both staff and parents to ensure that every child receives the support they need.I would highly recommend this school to any family seeking a nurturing, academically advanced, and student-centered environment where children are challenged, supported, and truly encouraged to reach their fullest potential.

Love this school for the small class sizes, the dedicated teachers, and the sense of community from the parents of the school. Though we have incredible public schools in the area, my reason for choosing this school wasn't because of religious affiliation, it was simply because I wanted a small class size school where I could get physically involved more than my public school. Like, you can volunteer to do recess duty, lunch duty, or anything like that. Really incredible sense of community.

This school has been a wonderful place for my two children whose personalities are different from each other, but are each nurtured and supported in ways that match the individual child. My children are truly happy to go school and have learned to integrate high level concepts through play and experiential learning. We look forward to many years ahead at The Cottage School!
