Adams Elementary was great when my kid started. In the last 2 years, everything has gone down hill. The school does not have enough teachers for the students. Each grade has 2 classes of about 18-20 kids with the exception of 4th grade where there is only one teacher. Because of this, the students that are independent learners are in a classroom with 5th graders and the one 4th grade class is large and most of the kids require attention that they are not receiving. Many of the children have behavioral issues and when visiting you will see many sitting by the office as they have had to be removed from the class. The staff does what they can to help all the kids but do not have the capacity to provide the necessary attention that is required. Parents of children at this school tend to not hold their children accountable for their actions and instead will call and yell at the teachers and administration. My child has fallen so far behind because they are being bullied by other children and struggles to keep up in class because they are not getting the help necessary.

A new Principal started at Boyd last school year and Mrs. Station has been great. She had a lot to clean up after the last Principal. She's dedicated, honest, and works hard to give the children a well-rounded education. Mrs. Station wants to improve test scores and build a positive bridge between the staff, students, and their families to get every student to learn, grow, and to reach their unique potential. And to be responsible, happy kids. But that starts at home to teach your children to be self-responsible, and to keep trying to overcome any difficultites or disappointments. No principal is a miracle worker, if the parents or guardian don't follow-through at home with learning, and with consistency and discipline then its an uphill battle at school for the teachers and principal. My kids look forward to going to school and I have been happy with their progress there now. The teachers seem happier and more positively engaged now too.

Many of the teachers show a sincere commitment to their vocation and genuinely strive to support their students, which is truly appreciated. Communication from the school is frequent, with many messages being sent, and it would be more manageable for families if communication were streamlined into a single platform. The front office staff are kind, helpful, and welcoming, reflecting the spirit of service central to the school’s mission. Interactions with the business manager have been difficult at times, as her rigid inflexibility can be challenging to work with. The principal’s messages are consistent but often feel impersonal and repetitive. Additionally, some automated messages are sent late in the evening and contain inaccuracies, which detracts from the professionalism expected of a faith-based institution. With more thoughtful, unified, and personable communication, the school could better reflect the excellence and care it strives to model.
