W.G. Pearson Elementary is a fantastic school. I've seen significant growth in my daughter's education in her very first year here. Teachers are warm, welcoming, knowledgeable, and well equipped. There are many ways to get involved as parents, and Principal Dorsey is extremely communicative on this aspect. I'm impressed with the amount of communication I receive from this school about upcoming activities, ways to support and engage, and even individual communication from teachers to help guide my child in the right direction based on what the teacher feels is most relevant to your child. I highly recommend this school!

QEI is a secret educational gem in Durham, NC. When My son started there, he was in K4 with Mrs.Stephens and Miss Palmer. They are the perfect teacher tag team for that class! The phonics program that Mrs.Stephens created is ONE OF A KIND! My son and several of his classmates were reading before winter break! At 4 and 5 YEARS OLD! There is no other place where those children would have gained that knowledge and instruction. My son left that classroom at 5 years old reading on a 2nd grande level! QEI is phenomenal and I really wish they would go through 8th grade at least!
