Great experience. So far our kid is in kindergarten and loves it.

Our family has been immensely grateful for the incredible experience our child has had at Seawell. We have been continually impressed by the love, care, and support the staff and community provide every day.Seawell truly feels like a unicorn: a public school with a phenomenal special education program, classes from pre-K through fifth grade, and a vibrant, welcoming, and diverse community. The Learning Garden and Critter Corner provide meaningful, hands-on opportunities for students to learn through gardening, animals, nature, and science, while the school’s proximity to Carolina North Forest and Chapel Hill’s greenway system grounds the entire educational experience in the natural world.It is simply an all-around wonderful school and community, offering a richness of experience that many families seek (and often pay substantial tuition to find) elsewhere.

We have had a very positive experience due to the incredibly intelligent and compassionate teachers we have had. The school is very diverse and due to learning in English and Spanish I don't believe testing and ratings on this site work as well in this model of a school.

My kids have been at McDougle for 4 years and I have been on the PTA board for 3 of those. MES is a great school! The principal is absolutely amazing! The teachers and staff are so committed to this school. And the PTA works its butt off to serve any of the needs of the school community. Everyone is extremely inclusive and welcoming.

Had a terrible experience with administration, our k teacher was phenomenal. When we brought the issues about the administration to our parent teacher conference, the teacher started crying and said my friends always asked me why I stay here… have a feeling most of these scores are artificially increased by members of the PTA or administration themselves
