"The people who rate the south side of Rockford as unsafe and terrible don't know what they are talking about. Our family has had two homes there for 91 years. We feel safer than some other areas of Rockford. Housing prices HAVE gone up over the years, but the area suffers from PREJUDICE AND MISINFORMATION. This area is poised for even more of a revitalization in the next few years with the rebuilding of South Main Street, the train to Chicago, the permanent festival areas, proximity to downtown. Rockford is good for looking down on itself. We love being two minutes from downtown, our brick house is huge with lots of ammenities including a swimming pool....Cop a clue people and get yourself some SOUTH SIDE PRIDE. While you are at it, visit the MANY cultural and recreational attractions in the Ethnic Village. Many of the Italian families may have left the area, but its still a wonderful mix of ethnicities, with the Mexican community predominating. Its really quiet here...check it out. You definitely have it WRONG!"
