St. Matthias is a beacon of learning. As a wall-to-wall International Baccalaureate and now Blue Ribbon school, it is simply second to none in its academic excellence and preparation for high school. My oldest child graduated from SMS and is thriving in their high school classes. The high school is extremely rigorous and demands a lot from its students academically--and our child is truly excelling across the board. I credit this to the strength of the curriculum, the IB way of teaching kids how to think critically (not just memorize answers for a test), and how they classes all intersect in a cross-disciplinary way. It's simply a gamechanger for kids going in to high school. On top of that, the parent community is something we've never seen before. We have made life-long friends we consider family through the school, and our kids have made life-long friends as well that we know will last long beyond 8th grade. Lastly, the embracing of all kinds of kids from all faiths, backgrounds, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status is unique to North Side Catholic Schools. Take a tour and see for yourself.
