I had a very unpleasant experience today while picking up my granddaughter. As someone was leaving, I stood by the door waiting — I didn’t try to push my way in or anything. I was simply waiting politely to see if I could enter.Then a staff member suddenly spoke to me in a rude tone, saying I had to “wait for the buzz,” and even tried to close the door. I understand there are safety rules, but there was no reason to speak to me that way. I was just standing there, not doing anything wrong.I hope the staff can treat parents and grandparents with more kindness and respect in the future.

Our two children have been Brookshire Bulldogs for five years. We’ve experienced the full range of grades K through 5th. Our kids have been supported by a great community of teachers, admins, after school programs, parents, lasting friends and an amazing PTA that have all made going to Brookshire a wonderful experience for both of them. Our eldest child is now in Middle School and has continued to thrive academically and socially after having a Brookshire education. Brookshire is a great school. Can’t recommend it enough!

The school does not support children if they are getting bullied. Do not send your children here. If something happens, they do not correct the situation. They don’t punish bullying. They don’t punish the kids responsible and hold them accountable for their behaviors. Some teachers don’t get back to you if you need to talk to them about how your child is doing or if you need to find out what they’re doing in class to help them at home. They also don’t always give them the assignments that he missed if they are absent. The school seems pleasant at first on the surface, But they don’t get back to you if you need to speak to them, especially assistant principal and principal. They only care about using their school for perks in the city whether it’s for restaurants or treating their stuff to things they don’t care about the students. There are a handful that do care, but not enough.

Their withdrawal policy is insane and they want it notarized on top of it.Withdrawal Policy Agreement2026-2027Please read the following statement from the ICS Financial Agreement and sign below."If a family decides they must withdraw from ICS, they must notify ICS no later than April 14, 2026, for the 2026-2027 school year. If you withdraw your student any time after this date, you are committed for the entire annual tuition and fees, regardless of circumstances (e.g., any personal decision or a disciplinary action resulting in expulsion). You will be responsible for the balance of the annual tuition and fees (including unfulfilled Parent Partner days). Registration fees and new student fees are non-refundable and non-transferable at any time."I have read and understand the ICS withdrawal policy, which states that I am financially committed for the full year's tuition should I withdraw my student(s) after April 14, 2026, for the 2026-2027 school year regardless of any reason or circumstance.
