Highland Springs

Since this is a k-12 school, most students will be able to see other grades when performing their daily academics. This comes in as a no-brainer, but in this case, it is needed to be pointed out because the bathrooms are shared by BOTH highschool and elementary. This means that elementary kids go into bathrooms and enclosed spaces used by older children. This would be normal to some extent, but the past year, there have been reports of middle/high schoolers punching and performing violence to younger grades. This does not happen frequently, but it still is an issue of safety that needs to be addressed. There are also a lot of blind spots between class periods where students can easily smoke or do drugs. Only a few select teachers seem to care about enforcing rules and patrolling for such things. There are only a few high school students, and there are even fewer teachers for them. Classes are mostly done by video, and in some cases, students are needed to use their own phone for learning. This makes students less attentive to what they are learning and overall create a more terrible learning experience with low number of classmates to engage their social skills. Since this school is also now surrounded by new housing projects, there have been incidents where students would throw trash over the school wall, and it would end up in the neighbor's backyard. Student body and overall student community are pretty sub-par. This school is pretty cheap for a private school, but "cheap" in this case, comes in both ways. You pay cheap, you get cheap/poor school experience for your child and their possible future if you enroll them for a few years. I do not recommend this school. To me, it's not because it's small, but rather barely functioning
