My daughter has been attending this school since kindergarten and she is now in 3rd grade. Over the years, I have seen so many positive changes and improvements in the school. The principal truly cares about the students, staff, and overall environment of the school. You can tell there is more effort being put into making the school a better place for the children.My daughter loves going to school every day, which says a lot as a parent. The teachers and staff have always been supportive and caring, and I appreciate the dedication they show to the students. I am happy with our experience here and grateful for the positive atmosphere the school continues to create.

I’m new to Surratsville and I’m happy to say the the start of the school year has been good. The principal has a theme Every student every day whatever it takes and I can’t wait to join the parent group to be a part of the positive change at this wonderful high school!

I used to be a student at this school and it was awful for me, especially in the 6th grade. The first thing I want to mention is the bullying, there is so much bullying, you can get bullied for anything. I literally used to try minding my business and I would be so nice to people and I would get bullied regularly by 2 kids in my class, throwing snacks at me, calling me names, and just making me feel so bad I wanted to go home already when it was only 1st period. As the bullying went on, I just got more and more scared just going to class, to get bullied, and the teacher wouldn't even let me change my seat or anything, and I was too scared to speak up since kids fought a lot, and I didn't want to cause any problems. I even found out someone i've been friends with for like 2 years was talking about me and even their best friend behind their back, it was bad. Most of the teachers are okay, but they just enable and tolerate bad behavior from the "popular kids' who are in ISS every day and had really bad grades, I remember 1 getting held back. You can get written up or suspended just from wearing a hoodie, even when it's cold outside and in the building. This school really changed me, in a bad way, I dont even enjoy the things I used to because of the constant bullying, but it got better in 8th grade. I dont waant anyone to experiece this at all, so if there are any other schools to send your child to, please send them to a different one..
