Welcome to THE BARN. Photos show the apartment pre-renovations. We are currently engaged in re-doing EVERYTHING (floors, walls, insolation, paint, appliances, etc). Photos will be updated when renos are completed around March/April 2025.
Now searching for a April-July 2025 move-in. Lease duration is ideally 12-18months.

Our spacious and forested property just outside of downtown Ithaca is in a retrofitted barn. While we use the upstairs as a secondary lake home, the downstairs is a large, one-bedroom/one-bath apartment and is currently under FULL renovations. Really, it's quite spacious. While already furnished, there is plenty of space to add your own desks, additional furniture, belongings, and whatever else you would like. The kitchen is fully functional with oven, stovetop, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and a semi-stocked kitchen. In addition, you will share our grass yard and plenty of parking space for up to two cars. Updated photos will also show the many plants and flowers we have planted:) We are directly next to Buttermilk Falls State Park, a 5-10min bike ride to downtown Ithaca, and a ten minute drive to Cornell or Ithaca campuses. Places like the Ithaca bakery and Purity Ice Cream are five minutes by car. The Walmart, Wegmans, and other shopping centers are even less. This apartment is ideal for a couple or single person employed in nearby businesses/university or for a couple/single graduate or PhD student(s). We are not looking to host messy, careless, or exceedingly loud tenants. We ask for respectful, kind, and responsible renters that are looking for a peaceful, green, spacious place to call home. If you are local, we would love to meet you to show you the apartment after March 2025 (renovations currently in progress!).

Owner will pay for water, sewer, and trash collection. Renter will pay for electricity and gas.

    "It is a very easy commute to downtown. Slightly more to the colleges. I consider commutes under 15 minutes to be easy though. I know Ithacans complain about traffic at the “octopus”, but that’s only because most of them have never seen traffic."

    "I've lived in the area for 13 years. I've lived in Northeast Ithaca specifically for 5 years. Northeast Ithaca is very competitive as far as buying a home. The people are great and Northeast Elementary including the Ithaca City School District is beyond amazing. Northeast Ithaca is close to Cornell University. There are many reasons why homes in in Northeast Ithaca are in high demand."

Many grocery stores and restaurants and retail stores to shop. Unique shops on the main common area in the middle of the city. There is so many outdoor lights activities for all ages in the Finger Lakes area. "
