4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA few great teachers like Mrs Christine and the Gym teacher Mr Wensel. The principal Ms Tooks is so unprofessional. She does not respond to emails.. She lies to parents and I disliked the school even more because of her lack of professionalism she really needs to go. Glad I got my three star kiddos out they absolutely deserved better. MPS need to do better with who they have in charge. Just unacceptable.Parent Review1y ago9 Reviews - Milwaukee German Immersion School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter’s primary, lower elementary and upper elementary teachers have been gifts to our family. Our child is in 6th now and loves going to school! Her teacher greets her with tea on chilly mornings, always has soft music playing in the classroom and she’s created such a kind and caring culture. Our daughter’s writing and math skills have also flourished in upper el. Sometimes we read her descriptive writing pieces and cannot believe she’s only twelve. Until 4th, she was reticent to read and write. It’s so evident the teachers form deep connections with their students and families and foster a love of learning.Parent Review6mo ago13 Reviews - Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter switched to King from The Woodlands, TX, and unfortunately, the educational experience has been disappointing. The teachers seem unresponsive and lack the willingness to communicate with parents regarding concerns about a child's academic progress. This is a stark contrast to the school's reputation over a decade ago for academic and behavioral excellence. Now, it's quite the opposite. The prevalence of fights has created an unsafe environment, leaving my daughter feeling distracted from her learning. Teachers seem more focused on managing behavior than actual teaching. King High has lost its former status as a high-achieving school in MPS and is not what it once was.Parent Review1y ago18 Reviews - Maryland Avenue Montessori School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has really went down hill over the years. The teachers can’t really teach because of all the behavioral issues. They can’t even attend to all the behavioral issues that happen daily. My children tell me about physical fights at least twice a week. There is absolutely no type of accountability for negative behavior because enrollment is down they won’t suspend or expel. It’s terribleParent Review5mo ago59 Reviews - Brown Street Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers and staff at this school are excellent and caring. The principal bullies teachers and parents, and seems unaware of bullies in the student body, however, resulting in a lot of turnover and low morale. There is not a lot of emotional intelligence among faculty here. It can be odd. Children do learn to think critically, just in more of a strict and normed way than you or Maria Montessori would generally want children to experience.Parent Review8mo ago8 Reviews - Rufus King International Middle School

"Great neighborhood at times. Sometimes I do hear gun shots outside which scares me. It’s mainly at late night. I would suggest having a security dog and system if you want to purchase in this area. There’s nice parks within walking distance and summer parades that are near. "
