4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI had my kids in this school for 2 years. I tried working with the staff and the school board about the major bullying issues this school has. No resolution was in sight and the bullies are treated better than the victims. My children also had minimal to no educational growth. My youngest is struggling with reading and had zero growth in his test scores from the beginning of the year. My daughter said the work is too easy compared to the Westminster district. Also the majority of Adams 12 schools don’t offer special education after 2nd grade so the kids are just placed to the side if they are not on the same level of their classmates. I am so happy to say I finally got my kids out of this school! However it saddens my heart to know other kids have to deal with this! The district also needs a major clean up and education reform.Parent Review1mo ago - Thornton High School

What Locals Say about Denver

"It’s a dangerous place. Gunshots, helicopters, SWAT teams, high people in the park, police raids every weekend. "
- Rob Kancilia

"My commute to downtown Denver is short and easy. Lowry is very conveniently located to both central Denver and DIA"

"A lot of dog owners and everyone is good at keeping their dog on leash or in their yard. There are cats that live in the neighborhood and none of the dogs have attacked or harmed any of them in the 2 years I’ve been here. "
- Sara Beldt

"Easy trails, small creek and lots of green parks with mature trees. Very peaceful yet plenty of young fun families that like to be outdoors. "
- Goombao

"Dog owners are everywhere! Very friendly, most people pick up after their dogs. Very few off leash. "
- Thomas Greene
- Resident

"They would like the walkability and the access to all of the different parks and resources. They would also love how dog friendly mostly everywhere is. However, they would not like the amount of dog waste that is left in some places (left unattended, it prevents other dogs from wanting to “go potty” in those areas)"

"I used to love this neighborhood, but it has gone downhill the past couple of years. If I had children, I would not feel comfortable letting them play in the front yard due to cars consistently driving over the speed limit. "

"Many dogs in the area but plenty of safe areas to walk and parks to visit. Most owners are friendly and respectful. "

"It’s very welcoming community, is the city, so you’re going to find that trash bins in your alleyway sometimes, however, the sense of family in the community is strong. Parents play with their kids in the park, people will gather for outdoor activities, jog, play with their dogs. For me, it’s a perfect blend. Just outside the mischief, but close enough when you need it."
