What's it like to live in Brentwood?

The character of Brentwood is exemplified by its calm environment. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to discover, including Rustic Canyon Park and Crestwood Hills Park, which makes it easy to access them from most locations in the neighborhood. This part of Los Angeles is also quiet, as the streets are reasonably tranquil - although there are still several louder areas, especially close to San Diego Freeway.

What kinds of homes are available in Brentwood?

The majority of the housing stock of Brentwood consists of large apartment buildings and single detached homes, and the rest of the dwellings are mainly small apartment buildings. This area also has a good choice of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find houses ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. Roughly 60% of the dwellings in the neighborhood are occupied by homeowners and 40% are occupied by renters. Around 40% of homes in this neighborhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.

What are the schools, restaurants and shopping like in Brentwood?

There are only a few high schools and primary schools in this area and accordingly they can be a rather long walk away. Locals are served by public and private schools at both the elementary and high school level. With regards to eating, some, but not all, house buyers in Brentwood will live within walking distance of one of about 20 supermarkets. Residents are served by over 100 restaurants and coffee shops as well.

What are the best ways to get around in Brentwood?

This part of the city is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to find a parking spot. However, the public transit service in this part of the city is not very frequent. Nevertheless, residents benefit from about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not especially far-removed from most houses. This neighborhood is not very conducive to walking since most daily needs are occasionally challenging to meet without the use of a vehicle.
