Read what parents are saying about Prairie Elementary SchoolThe community, teachers, principal and families make this a wonderful, positive, high achieving school to attend. We wouldn’t send our kid to any other Waukesha elementary, this school seems like a diamond in Waukesha and we have been thrilled with the communication home from teachers and administration. So happy with this school and we have only great things to say. Way to go teachers and admin!
Posted by a parent on 9/6/2022My daughter had an excellent first year at Prairie, and I can see the foundation for future success has been provided. The focus on academic excellence, along with playing a role in the community and social readiness has been a wonderful approach. I can also see the excitement for meeting and exceeding educational goals is building in the students, and appreciate the kids being held to high standards. Looking forward to our children continuing the fun, and expanding their knowledge at Prairie!
Posted by a parent on 6/27/2017My son is currently in 1st grade. When he was in kindergarten we loved it!! Mrs. Arnold is AMAZING!! I wish she could teach all grades. We have some concerns with our son and Mrs. Arnold worked with us and with him. We've gone to loving the school to being very unhappy with it. There is very little to no communication and the teachers just don't seem to care or want to spend the time discussing certain issues. Emails and calls are not returned. I am really hoping next year is better, if not we will look into a different school.
Posted by a parent on 5/12/2015This is my daughter's first year at Prairie. She is in second grade. Her teachers are young, but they are concerned about the students. There is daily feedback and a summary for the week. The staff and principal have always been friendly towards us. My daughter enjoys going to school and she is performing well. The other kids have been very friendly to her even though she is new.
Posted by a parent on 2/8/2013I am a Prairie parent of 2 girls....oldest is going into 4th grade. I grew up attending a very small elementary school with great staff and leadership. I feel Prairie is just like that! I always feel welcome whenever attending functions or just entering the school grounds. My children LOVE attending Prairie! I feel it is a safe, friendly, strong academic and welcoming school for all families. I am proud to be a Prairie Puma family!

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school was a nightmare for my children and had an immensely negative impact on their learning. Relentless bullying from key students that the school refused to ever address, but bullying toward my kids from parent volunteers, plus some key teachers. This school is racist, has no space for learning differences. They reward bullies while ignoring IEP’s. Having been a teacher for 20 years now I have never experienced such a toxic, cruel community. If you can possibly avoid this school, please do.Parent Review2y ago - Heyer Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately this school has fallen behind and failing the entire student body. Us educators and the students suffer as the uneducated parents in the community hold their children’s education back and block the opportunities to grow in the bigger world. Several teachers on staff are looking elsewhere, some have already found better opportunities. We simply don’t feel empowered or supported here. Sad times.Teacher Review9mo ago - Waukesha Stem Academy

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei went to this school from 2nd to 4th grade and experienced a lot of bullying. the teachers and staff did nothing about it and just told us we were overreacting.my sister was also bullied and it left a lot of bad impact on her and she now deals with serious mental health issues due to bullying, etc. fights are a normal thing and happen very often.a girl in my class tried to hit us with bats. the teachers didn’t talk about it the next day at all. nobody takes there job seriously and the old principal was a bully herself.i hated going to this school and would have breakdowns every once in the morning before school.the teachers would tell us to not be bystanders to bullying and to step in and stop the bullying. the teachers needed to hear hat more than the students. the kids in the school can be very mean and i’ll admit i was mean to. but the teachers didn’t care so we did whatever we wanted to do.this isn’t a school where you get a education. don’t send your kids here it is horrible for anyone’s mental health. they need to get new staff and teachers who actually care for the children.Other Review3y ago - Waukesha Catholic Middle School-St Joseph Campus

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe became members of Mt. Calvary 30 years ago and have been members ever since. Things change but not the Christian education the children receive yet today. My son has grown to be a God loving married man unabashed and confident with a Masters degree in business. My daughter is a special angel. Her love for God and her gift of love and compassion led her to obtain her Doctorate degree of Occupational Therapy where she works with special need children to live a fulfilling life. Pre-K through 8 are the foundational years. Armed with foundational Christian guiding principles, Mt. Calvary’s staff and pastors excel WITH PARENTS to provide youth with a foundational education based on God’s love for us. For us, being involved in the church and school wasn’t an option, it was a blessing. You only have one shot at raising your children. We were blessed to have been members of Mt Calvary Church and School. Thank you God.Other Review10mo ago
