Read what parents are saying about Twain Middle SchoolIn my opinion, it's the best schools and it's really fun to learn because the teachers are always trying their best to support you in learning. but in a fun way. there is no bullying or making fun of one another which is why i like it. there is no no homework. there is only classwork and if you didn't finish the teacher will tell you to don't stress about it. like they are making everything so easy in a friendly way. again in my opinion it's the best school!!!
Posted by a student on 11/26/2023Possibly the worst school in all of fairfax county. The teachers do not care. It takes them weeks to respond to emails or other forms of communication. The administration is unhelpful and do not step in to assist students who are struggling or need guidance. The school is ridden with bullying and violence. The kiss and ride is most mismanaged one you have ever seen causing each parent to sit for pickup or dropoff for 40min each day. The teachers lack the skills and desire to do anything more than the bare minimum if that. I do not know why the county has not shut down this school yet.

Posted by a community member on 2/12/2018I was a 7th grader at Mark Twain Middle School but sadly I had to move midway in the year due to family related problems . I think its a great school with a safe learning environment and teachers are very nice.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWorking at Patrick Henry was an awful experience. The principal is a bully. Students are not engaged because the principal demands that all lessons be a specific way. The principal does not follow up on her promises. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo NOT send your child(ren) to this school. I heard of all of the amazing things Samuel W. Tucker used to be (with previous admin,) but that has long gone. Admin is way in over their heads in terms of what is going on at this school. Communication is lacking- they do not practice what they preach. They want to paint a pretty picture to parents and outsiders to hide what a mess this place is. It seems as if parents have a lot of control of what goes on here, or at least administration will give to anything a parent requests. The office staff is friendly, but it is always a mess in there. Things are misplaced, it's always "I thought he/she had it...",- no accountability. Teachers are nice and they at least seem to have each other. You can definitely tell this is not a happy place to work. Behaviors at this school are growing by the year and there is no handle on them. Counselors, support staff, and the special education department is stretched thin trying to make it through each day. Children are physically aggressive with staff members and other students and it takes a big incident for something to be done.
