Read what parents are saying about Milam Elementary SchoolWe moved from the metroplex and our child has had no problems adjusting at Milam. The staff have been extremely friendly and the principal is very welcoming. The teachers have higher expectations regarding coursework and responsibilty which was a major difference from our last school. They have encouraged independence with the students and I think this will be a valuable skill for our child going forward.
Posted by a parent on 3/5/2024I love this school for my two girls. We moved here in 2015 and my oldest was going into first grade, we are now in our 4th year here and my oldest is in 4th grade and my youngest is in 2nd. I have nothing but good things to say about Ben Milam. Due to the diverse school population, I think the school makes great strides to make all students feel comfortable and safe. Within the last two years, there has been a new principal and she has been a fantastic addition to the school and its staff. There are a variety of clubs for the kids to join and my girls have taken advantage of all of them! My youngest was having trouble reading and I asked to have her tested for dyslexia and had nothing but support from her teacher, the asst principal as well as other teachers at the school. Both of my girls enjoy school, have a lot of fun in the special classes (PE, Library, Computers and Art). I am happy they have a good educational base as we are moving on to our next base. I would recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 1/20/2019We are a military family that moved to Wichita Falls 4 years ago when our daughter was in Kindergarten. The teachers at Milam are wonderful and caring people. However, the same can not be said about the Principal and Vice Principal. They do not take bullying serious at all. The Principal seems very out of touch and doesn't seem to care at all and the Vice Principal would rather punish the victims of bullying then help. In fact today on our last day at Milam rather then ending her 4 years on a positive happy note, she made sure to end it on a negative and depressing note. It's beyond disappointing for a 10-year-old to leave a school feeling so rejected.
Posted by a parent on 12/19/2014Ben Milam has gone above and beyond for my Son. We moved to Wichita Falls 2 years ago and his 1st grade teacher always made herself available and his 2nd grade teacher is amazing! The staff genuinely cares about the kids and encourage parent involvement. I'm looking forward to my 5 year old starting kindergarten this fall at Ben Milam.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent! We discovered my daughter has dyslexia the second half of last year while attended a different wfisd school. She made little to no progress last year. This year we enrolled her at Cunningham and her improvement is beyond every expectation I had it could hope for. Ms Keller and the special education team have been a blessing to us. They have helped my daughter to make massive strides in her education and in her abilities to be successful in every subject, especially reading. The best decision we ever made to make a change in her school campus. The staff truly cares about their students and goes above and beyond for each every student!! I highly recommend Cunningham to anyone who listens!Parent Review4y ago - Fain Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe heard a lot of great things about this school and were terribly disappointed. We applied for their first responder discount they advertise and we were rejected because we are a volunteer and not paid. I feel like them doing that is disheartening and prejudice. Volunteers deserve ALOT of praise for saving lives without any sort of compensation and then when you try to get a discount you are rejected because you are not considered a first responder in their eyes? Despite being rejected for being a first responder we sent our child here. From the very beginning we had issues that progressed as the year went on. The issues were even addressed with the staff and didn't see any improvement. Elementary school should be a fun learning environment not be stressful for your child. Also after putting my child back into public school they were extremely behind in all of their academic classes. I wish you all the best on you or your child's journey finding a school but I would definitely stay away from here. If you do send your child here I hope that you have a better experience than we did. Thanks!Parent Review4y ago
