There is strong communication between parents and staff, teachers, and administration. The leadership is excellent here.

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a mother to two neurodivergent children in Cumberland Academy’s lower elementary I am so pleased with this school. I have seen both of my children with very different personalities blossom in this environment and really get excited about the academic challenges set. They do have a high teacher turn over rate which can be confusing, but each teacher hired has been kind, supportive and so thoughtful, as well as very communicative and responsive every time I’ve reached out. I am so happy that I sent my children to this school as I feel very safe when I drop off my kids in the morning and pick them up. We have had the most amazing teachers each year that have communicated well and worked with our kids to make sure they were understanding what was being taught! The other students are also great! We have been able to make lots of friends at Rice and I’ve been able to meet other parents as well through different school events and activities! I am sad that we paid money to this school for the return to be less than desirable. My children were called racial slurs and did not feel welcomed here. They were scrutinized by administration and the lack of cultural competence here is very disappointing. I would not recommend this school.
