Woods Elementary School

As a mother to two neurodivergent children in Cumberland Academy’s lower elementary I am so pleased with this school. I have seen both of my children with very different personalities blossom in this environment and really get excited about the academic challenges set. They do have a high teacher turn over rate which can be confusing, but each teacher hired has been kind, supportive and so thoughtful, as well as very communicative and responsive every time I’ve reached out. I am so happy that I sent my children to this school as I feel very safe when I drop off my kids in the morning and pick them up. I have no doubt that the teachers and staff love the kids and are doing the very best they can for them and their futures.

Henry M Bell is an amazing school with great staff and administrators. The school has a family like culture that embraces all the needs of the demographics while also ensuring the growth of students. My children and I love being Bell Bears.

Birdwell is a nice school. It is very rigid though and gives way too much homework. Kids starting in 2nd grade have 1.5-2 hours of homework. They are proud of their test results, as they should be, but kids that young should not be forced to do that much homework.

I do not recommend this school at all! Your child will fall thru the cracks & they could careless! Our family has gone to this school for generations with no issues until this year!! If you care about your child at all I suggest doing your own research & attending another school.

We have 4 kids and have been at Rice for 5 years with 4 more years to go with our youngest! We have had the most amazing teachers each year that have communicated well and worked with our kids to make sure they were understanding what was being taught! The other students are also great! We have been able to make lots of friends at Rice and I’ve been able to meet other parents as well through different school events and activities! We love Rice!

Absolutely horrible. Administration is poor and I could not agree more with the previous reviews. I am sad that we paid money to this school for the return to be less than desirable. My children were called racial slurs and did not feel welcomed here. They were scrutinized by administration and the lack of cultural competence here is very disappointing. I would not recommend this school. Try your luck with T.K.Gorman, Grace, or even Brook Hill.
