Henry M Bell is an amazing school with great staff and administrators. The school has a family like culture that embraces all the needs of the demographics while also ensuring the growth of students. My children and I love being Bell Bears.

However, I don't think they are keeping their magnet standards. (They are trying to remedy that.) I never felt they were challenging enough for a bright student. I just found

10/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBirdwell is a nice school. It is very rigid though and gives way too much homework. Kids starting in 2nd grade have 1.5-2 hours of homework. I am sad that we paid money to this school for the return to be less than desirable. My children were called racial slurs and did not feel welcomed here. They were scrutinized by administration and the lack of cultural competence here is very disappointing. I would not recommend this school.
