It's privately owned by a grandparent and created for their grandchildren. All their grandkids graduated so now they just employ all their kids. Awful school overall. Just fired half their staff due to a 2 million dollar budget cut
Posted by a community member on 10/31/2024This school is somewhat terrible. Some of the Teachers are Rude, and the assistant principal right now doesn’t let the real principal do anything at all. She yelled at me one time for not knowing where to go for testing when she was the one supposed to tell me where to go.

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a mother to two neurodivergent children in Cumberland Academy’s lower elementary I am so pleased with this school. I have seen both of my children with very different personalities blossom in this environment and really get excited about the academic challenges set. They do have a high teacher turn over rate which can be confusing, but each teacher hired has been kind, supportive and so thoughtful, as well as very communicative and responsive every time I’ve reached out. I am so happy that I sent my children to this school as I feel very safe when I drop off my kids in the morning and pick them up. We have had the most amazing teachers each year that have communicated well and worked with our kids to make sure they were understanding what was being taught! The other students are also great! We have been able to make lots of friends at Rice and I’ve been able to meet other parents as well through different school events and activities!
