Read what parents are saying about Redland Oaks Elementary SchoolThis school has a fantastic environment. It is welcoming, fun, exciting and engaging to be a student, teacher, parent and community member of this great school. We have noticed the teachers love the grade they are teaching; happy teachers equals happy, learning students. Students and their families like to participate in the activities Redland Oaks offers. From Popsicle with the Principle to Bike Rodeo all the way to the famous end of year Dance Off. All that can come out and watch. Do come and watch!
Posted by a community member on 10/2/2023A lot of the reviews were old and outdated. There has been a new principal since the reviews. Redland is an A rated school by TEA. They ranked above 10 in the district for overall scores. This school is small and close.
Posted by a parent on 9/1/2023Well established school with a great staff dedicated to excellence. The teachers do an excellent job focusing on the needs of the students and creating an wonderful environment of inquiry and learning. My kids actually love going to school because of Redland Oaks.
Posted by a parent on 8/6/2015I purchased my house in NEISD because my realtor assured me it was the best district in San Antonio. I have to disagree! We have lived in many cities throughout Texas and have never had as many issues as we have had at Redland Oaks. Many of the teachers and staff should not be around children. I feel, I know the problem is the principal. Every time I meet a new parent they cannot wait to share the disgust they have for the school and especially the principal. As a parent who would love to volunteer and be a part of my child's school experience, it is a shame that I cannot. I will share a few of the issues: teachers telling the class they are a disappointment, A and B report cards when a child cannot read, staff lying and cover ups, inconsistent regulations, translating the NEISD handbook to suit their needs, I can go on. It is exhausting! I can completely see why my neighbors who are both principals send their child to a different school. My husband has experienced the abuse as well, it is a shame but I feel we need to put our house up for sale to move on!
Posted by a parent on 9/29/2014Both of my children attended kinder through fifth grade at Redland Oaks and it is a wonderful school! All of the teachers and staff are caring and highly qualified. To the parent that thinks the prek teachers are "talking about her", really? Get back on your meds, dear. This school is great and the staff works very hard to help all the children achieve their highest potential. Usually the parents who are critical are the ones who are not involved in their child's education or have unrealistic expectations.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI hate to post a bad review of this school, hopefully in the future it will change, and I can update it but for now it's accurate. I learned of a child in my daughter's kindergarten class who at the beginning of the year was having difficult behavior (kicking, hitting the teacher). I thought it was merely an isolated incident. Unfortunately, I didn't find out the extent until last week when this same student threw a chair in class which grazed my daughter on the side of her head. I received a call from the nurse and of course asked her teacher about it later. I reached out to other parents who have children in the same grade, some in her class, others in another teacher's class and that's when I found out this student has been terrorizing and abusing the children all through the school year. He has hit & kicked other children, stabbed the teacher with a pencil and yet is allowed to remain in class. Granted there was another principal who has since been removed but even with our recent meeting with the acting principal the attitude seems to be the same. They have confirmed the district has sent specialists to help. I have had lunch with my daughter and can confirm there are additional people around him now although I am still at a lack of words that there were no consequences for his behavior. I was also made aware (via other parents) that a second student in one of the other kindergarten classes exhibits the same behavior and is apparently related to the child in my daughter's class. I cannot confirm if he is also receiving assistance from other faculty although when I went to have lunch with my daughter, I personally saw him get away from a teacher, knock down a flagpole & then go behind some children & raise his hand to hit them. He was stopped prior to being able to although to me as a parent that is completely unacceptable behavior and how this child is still allowed to be in school is beyond me. Since there was no empathy or support from the leadership at the school we have started looking into options so that our daughter will not attend next year. I hope by posting this review it helps other parents to know what is happening at Longs Creek. I was in the dark until an incident happened, and it seems it will obviously take a child being seriously injured before they bother taking true action.Parent Review1y ago - Wetmore Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Dyslexia teacher told my daughter that she is in the class because she cannot read as good as the other kids. The counselor told us that my son did not need to be tested for GT because we came from a different demographic. My daughter’s classroom teacher refused to tutor her before the STAAR test. The principal agreed with this behavior. Never again. It’s sad that education has come to this. We have to do better.Parent Review6mo ago - Steubing Ranch Elementary School
