Florence W Stiles Middle School

This is my son’s second year at Blockhouse Elementary, he loves it and so do I. He never went to daycare or school before this so he was new to the whole dynamic of school. Both years in a row the staff and teachers have been nice and patient. It took my son a couple weeks or so both years to get in the groove of things. I honestly owe it to the teachers for being so patient and understanding that it may take some kids a little time to adapt. I am so proud to call Blockhouse Elementary our school! Our neighborhood has a great community of parents that keep in touch and keep each other in the loop. I feel like overall we scored when we moved in this neighborhood 4 years ago.

I have three children who have attended Pleasant Hill. This is our 8th year of having at least one child there. Overall Pleasant Hill is great. Two of my children have received extra services and testing for disabilities and I’ve been very happy with the staff and how they’ve helped my students with these hurdles. Very happy to be at Pleasant Hill.

Excellent school- beautiful environment for learning to start- large oak tree on playground and bright windowed classrooms. Excellent staff- knowledgeable and many have been with the facility for sometime. Carpool lane for drop off. Excellent staff to parent communication. Our son has thrived in this school and we are so happy with our decision. Excellent administration as well!

If I could give this school 10 stars, I would!Guidepost Montessori at Brushy Creek is a SPECTACULAR learning center.I always feel my daughter is happy, healthy, safe, and LOVED here. This school has the best, most caring, and loving guides. Ms. Nithya, my daughter's lead guide, made a big positive impact on her character (my daughter being very stubborn and dealing with big emotions at times, now she can make better choices and control her big feelings). Also, I'm impressed by the amount of learning and developmental information my daughter is exposed to, that are important in her day to day activities. Another important thing is the independency we've seen growing in her. Everything in her little universe is about "Me! Me! I can do it all by myself!"The administration is also great! I'm amazed how they know every single child by their name, how they welcome them every morning with a smile and positive attitude, making everyone feel like home. The staff truly make us feel like family. Our daughter knows all the staff members and she always runs to give or get big hugs, blows kisses or waves good morning/good bye. Being part of this big loving community is just very important for our family!Thank you Guidepost Montessori at Brushy Creek for a truly great work and dedication to my child and every member of your community!

My son has been at Akin since Kindergarten. and now he's going into 4th grade. All the teachers have been excellent. My son told me yesterday there is zero bullying at akin and whenever he sees bullying on a TV show, or a YouTube video, he always thinks about having never seen anything like that at Akin. I thought that was really impressive! The teachers work with each kid on what they need, even despite having a class full of children. My child has always felt safe and cared for by his teachers and the other staff (principals, admin, counselor, nurse, etc.), despite having some anxiety issues I always worried about with him being away from us. They really take care of his physical as well as emotional well-being.The only complaint he's had is that he gets bored and feels like the learning is too slow, he feels like he only spends 20 minutes learning and the rest "being bored." That is probably more just a downfall of school in general since it's a class full of children and everyone has to learn all the things each lesson, so I don't blame the school for that, I don't think. It's been a wonderful school for our child, and our youngest one enters Kindergarten there next year and we all think she will love school!
