Memorial Drive Elementary School

The second-grade teacher, J. Armstrong, is being rude to the children. When they misbehave, she yells at them, calling them bad, uneducated children, and if they feel sick, she won't let them go to the nurse's office. She has scolded my daughter very badly.

We have been really happy with Bunker Hill. Our boys have loved their teachers, and we love the new principal. She's very approachable and has gotten to know families very quickly. The building is new, and we're getting a lab elective next year for the kids. The sports facilities and the field are great.Parents at the school are incredibly involved and do a lot of things that make the experience special for the children, like putting on an International Day, Spring Fling, the "Good Behavior" reward shop, and helping with the grade level programs, etc. It's a very nice school with a lot of fun "extras".

The school is very white. All the benefits go to the students with family connections here. They do not treat students equally. They punish the students without family background much more seriously than the students with family connections here. The management of the school is not honest and they lied to you if you ask for some explanations.

The school fosters such an amazing, Christ-centered environment that helps students grow and thrive.

St. Cecilia Catholic School has a great community, but the administration is weak and often inconsistent. There is a clear preference toward families who donate more, which creates a sense of unfairness. The school’s strong reputation feels overrated and mostly driven by its location and relatively low tuition, rather than overall quality. The families and students are the best part of the school, but the administration falls short.

If approximately 15-20% (citing 17 sources...naming two pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov and dyslexia.yale.edu) of children in kindergarten through 3rd grade (roughly ages 5-9) have dyslexia, based on prevalence estimates from major dyslexia research organizations and studies focused on early elementary school populations...please explain how a school charging $25,000 a year for tuition failed to recognize severe dyslexia and dysgraphia in a student who attended from K-3rd grade. The DIBELS assessment tool, which can be as cheap as $0, requires no certification and is easy and quick, recommends testing to begin in kindergarten. The Texas Education Agency mandates dyslexia risk assessment beginning in kindergarten.
