3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagemy child was in this school from pre-kindergarten to 1st semester of 3rd grade 2024(english). horrible teaching, my child was at a 1st grade reading level even with me trying to help her. All she will get were little cut outs to practice. Teachers have no concern of informing parents on what there child educational level is or if there struggling. my husband and i had informed one of the teachers and they couldn't really say much even changing classes wouldnt help because there's not that many English teachers that's its the exact same one she will still be teached by. After i finally switched her from schools, new school inform us her academic level for a 3rd grader is at a 1st grade level! They have so many kids that dont speak english nor spanish that there just accepting them without realizing they dont have enough teachers to teach properly. As well car pick up is also horrifying, longest line, once in a blue moon moves fast and when it does you get lazy teachers or helpers not wanting to get out to see the paper being held to see the childs name and when honking they get offended and start making up there own rules of not coming out and forcing the parent to get out of the vehicle to show the name tag, some of us have small babies in the car not making it possible to leave the car and take the baby out just to get the school child in 2 seconds. if possible DONT enroll you children here! Theres other schools in the Gulfton area!Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Sutton Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon't know where to start. It is very overwhelming when it comes to helping other teachers and staff when you have a useless principal like Akala. Akala promotes bullying between teachers. She allows it to an extreme, imagine the children, just today i experience in the morning how a mother was not allow to enter , she was actually bringing the teachers treats per request, mind this she brought treats not to long ago as well and was allow to enter. I mean i know she worked at school before and quit for many reason that the school hides under the rug. HISD it's unbelievable how you let a principle have personal problems with an ex-worker / parent. Akala very unprofessional, always running from a problem, she is good at that. I hope all parent comes together and do something about it. PROPS TO THE ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS THEY DO SHOW A DIFFERENCES.Parent Review1y ago5 Reviews - Mistral Center For Early Childhood

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is attending this school this year 2015-2016. Her teacher, Ms Olivares, is an outstanding teacher and always available to discuss with the parents. At Mitral my daughter has been exposed to knowledge in different areas including science, math, language, reading, and sports. I have interact with other teachers and personnel and I can tell that they look for the kids. There is a new principal, Mrs. Troutman, who is always available to help parents and child development. There are different activities to help develop the kids intelectual and social capability.I only can say good things about this school.Parent Review10y ago13 Reviews - The Harris School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Harris School was a God-send when my child needed a school with more social-emotional support than her old school could provide. The teachers are amazing and they care so much about the kids. I can't recommend it enough! My child has continued to thrive after Harris and is making great grades at her new school, which is all due to The Harris School's commitment to education.Parent Review2y ago4 Reviews - Robindell Private School
