my child was in this school from pre-kindergarten to 1st semester of 3rd grade 2024(english). horrible teaching, my child was at a 1st grade reading level even with me trying to help her. All she will get were little cut outs to practice. Teachers have no concern of informing parents on what there child educational level is or if there struggling. my husband and i had informed one of the teachers and they couldn't really say much even changing classes wouldnt help because there's not that many English teachers that's its the exact same one she will still be teached by. After i finally switched her from schools, new school inform us her academic level for a 3rd grader is at a 1st grade level! They have so many kids that dont speak english nor spanish that there just accepting them without realizing they dont have enough teachers to teach properly. As well car pick up is also horrifying,longest line, once in a blue moon moves fast and when it does you get lazy teachers or helpers not wanting to get out to see the paper being held to see the childs name and when honking they get offended and start making up there own rules of not coming out and forcing the parent to get out of the vehicle to show the name tag, some of us have small babies in the car not making it possible to leave the car and take the baby out just to get the school child in 2 seconds. if possible DONT enroll you children here! Theres other schools in the Gulfton area!

This school has the absolute worse staff, particularly the front. My sister encounter with some nasty attitude with a staff that didn’t have her Badge ID so she couldn’t get her name. My sister went nicely to pick up her sister and in return she got an ugly attitude which that needs to be fixed before someone checks her if she’s having a bad day it doesn’t mean she has to take it out on someone Just bitter person that she was. I don’t appreciate this at all. I believe first impression matters and hers was a 0/10 especially when My sister went in nicely and politely to pick up her sister.

If you are reading this debating on what school to send your child to I just want you to know BCS is a safe choice. PROs: No homework for elementary kids, after school YMCA program if you work late, IB curriculum, active PTO, and my son has never complained of bullies. CONs: no bus route-you have to pick up and drop off. Lastly I think their school communication format, Bloomz, could be better. It serves its purpose but could be better.

The Harris School was a God-send when my child needed a school with more social-emotional support than her old school could provide. The teachers are amazing and they care so much about the kids. I can't recommend it enough! My child has continued to thrive after Harris and is making great grades at her new school, which is all due to The Harris School's commitment to education.
