Greenwood Forest Elementary School

When I went to this school, around 2 years ago, it was a mix of good and bad. The extracurricular activities were very inclusive and had a variety of options. The teachers were ok. They would either be very nice, strict, or not care about what you did. For the disabled kids, they were a little more strict with them, but I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be. The staff like the counselor, and APS were ok too. Some staff were strict, some were nice. If you have trouble, they take it seriously. Their lunch is very low-budget. It was a 5/10, sometimes 7/10 on a good day. The trips they planned were fun, some more than others. This school is decent, not the best, but not the worst. Overall, I would not recommend sending your kids here.

Hello! I would really like someone at Yeager Elementary to let there staff member Yvette Hernandez in the front desk know that it is very important to acknowledge children and there parents. I believe she is not aware that as front desk and the first person you see at Yeager a pleasant disposition and a simple "Hello" or "Good Morning" goes a long way. The poor rapport that she has is not an indication of the School. However, since she is the first person you see her disposition leaves much to ask for at the school. This is our first year at Yeager and all the teachers are wonderful and much of the staff as well. When I HAVE to go inside the school to the front office, its usually no acknowledgement and I usually have to initiate the conversation if not we would just be standing there.

Amazing amazing school and staff. My kids have been coming here since my oldest was in pre-K and now she is in the 12th grade. Some the reviews on here is true and some not so much. When we came back from Covid we were limited to coming into the school. (Per old principals request) the new principal took over 3 years ago and so much has changed. She really does work alongside us parents. At other schools there is only one day to come eat with our kids but here we can go everyday of the week. The staff morale is up; everyone laughing and smiling. They even celebrate all the holidays. I can tell the principal tries to make it to every school performance from Hispanic heritage to black history and so much more. Love that she comes into the lunch room once in a while to make special announcements and it’s always positive announcements. The teachers and staff are amazing too. Teachers and staff look like that have what they need too. I hear that they are also given some supplies if they needed it. I would most definitely recommend this school.

The current principal and the majority of the staff members should undergo communication and health classes to understand how to appropriately communicate with children under any situations. Counselor Villalobos is incredibly biased against students and will never resolve any matter since she has a justification for everything. When it comes to problem solving, Principal Leal does not communicate with any of the parents. I'm not sure how she was named principal of the year since she's created so many problems since becoming principal.
