Posted by a community member on 10/18/2023I'm a student at Dickinson Highschool, I'm a senior and about to graduate. I think this school has some fantastic qualities to it, I think all the teachers are really caring, and the majority of students, especially those who are taking more advanced classes are actually into learning more. I'm glad I went to Dickinson Highschool, and I wouldn't have chosen any other school to attend!

Posted by a community member on 10/16/2017I think it has some horrible teachers and needs to drain the swamp...some wonderful teacher too...it's the ones that have been their too long that set up the atmosphere for patting on the back of bad behavior ...drain the swamp..
Posted by a parent on 12/27/2014I have friends who go here and they say that they really like DICKINSON and that they have wonderful teachers who love doing what they do best, so for you parents out there who try to do anything to keep your child as a friend is a sorry excuse. Don't try to be your kids friend because then they'll use anything to get you to fall for it, be a parent first and put them in tutoring because there are programs at the school to help bring up your child grade. Let's not forget you once used a sorry excuse to leave school like..."Mom I vomited come get me." or wake up saying this in the morning,"I don't feel good," and then when your parents go get dress you pretend you threw up." So saying that you had used excuses plenty of times to get out of school or to save yourself from getting in trouble. Because I had. Well I will be attending DICKINSON myself next year for a dual credit class. Be a parent first not a friend!!!

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daugher attended Kinder at Silbernagal and for the most part I was very impressed by the teachers and staff. She has excelled and is well prepared for first grade. I am not happy with the level of customer service from the front end administration. Overall, I am pleased with her kinder education. I did learn the P.E program has no funding and is struggeling to keep kids active due to lack of supplies. All jump ropes, etc are supplied by the PTO and teachers.Parent Review12y ago - Hughes Road Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had several children over course some ten years at this school. I feel like with all public education it is a mixed bag. I think many of the teachers are excellent and do a great job but I have seen turnover and loss of better teachers.I general it is well to do suburban school. The school is very tailored for household with stay at home parent or with extremely flexible schedules. Programming including teacher conferences are all done with expectation that you are free all day. Field trips and programs often have more chaperones than kids and programming is always packed. Parents start lining up at 12/1pm for 315 dismissal! The school is not tailored for disadvantaged, struggling or simply a work traditional hours. The education component is ok. Be prepared to teach your child and truly check in frequently with what you know they need to learn. If you rely on the teachers and reports you wlll think you child is fine for a very long time only to learn (often too late) they are behind or struggling in an area. Can not comment on current leadership principal - they are much more out of view and absent in comparison to previous. Finally a special word about the front office. The ladies who work there are difficulty to say the least. They are a bit unfriendly, unevenly apply "rules/standards" which are not official written policy of school or district. They are your primary interaction with the school and really should work on doing better.Parent Review1y ago - True Cross School - Dickinson
