Although this school is designated as an IB World school, which aims to promote a more peaceful world through understanding and respect, its practices starkly contradict these values. Under the leadership of the unprofessional principal, Jigyasa Sethi, the school environment adversely affects both staff morale and student well-being. Disciplinary actions such as making young children walk laps, isolating them during lunch ("lonely lunch"), and punitive responses to minor infractions undermine the principles of peace and respect the school claims to uphold. Moreover, the school's approach to handling concerns, such as calling security on a grandmother who voiced issues regarding emotional abuse and a lack of proper education, is concerning. With many students spending the year with a substitute teacher, critical educational opportunities are being missed. Parents seeking a genuinely nurturing educational environment might find this school, in its current state, unsuitable for their children.

The teacher really know their students and provide help for student progress

This year has been the worst experience. My child started 3rd grade with 3 teachers. One for home room and math, one for science and social studies and one for reading and language arts. The science and social studies teacher was taken from 3rd grade and moved to 5th. This left the 3rd graders with no one teaching them these subjects. After receiving several progress reports and a report card with missing grades, I reached out to his hometown teacher several times. There was no response or communication. I then reached out to his reading teacher only to find out his homework teacher/math teacher has resigned. Now he is left with just the reading and language arts teacher. There was no proper communication. My son still has missing grades but yet he is expected to take these tests and pass. This is not setting my child up for success. This is a set up for failure. It’s extremely frustrating. I will move to avoid him having to attend this school next year.

As an alumnus of the school, i regularly tell people that Prince of Peace was the best thing that ever happened to me. While I only attended a few years, I made some of my best friends in life at this school. All these years later I still talk to many of my high school friends regularly. In hindsight, the academics were challenging and helped prepare me for college. When I went on to my undergrad studies, I felt more prepared for college than my peers. With a smaller school like Prince of Peace, it enables students to be involved in multiple extra-curricular things, unlike a large public school. Overall, I loved my time there and if I ever have a family of my own, I would send my kids here.

If you are considering TCA, you need to be aware of a few things. First, the culture of exclusivity and mean girls is pervasive and extreme. It starts in middle school and by Upper School is out of control. Being a teenage girl is hard everywhere, but TCA makes it 1000% percent worse. It does not have a Christian culture when it comes to this. In fact, some of the moms who run the bible studies promote the exclusivity or look the other way. Upper School is very socially competitive, and some parents are part of this problem, resulting in lots of kids feeling left out and unvalued. Second, TCA is not a serious athletic school. The lack of quality athletics is huge and has a big impact on the high school experience and culture. TCA can't keep quality coaches and doesn't create winning teams. TCA doesn't value sports. Third, there is a huge lack of diversity in race and interests. If your child is a minority or not a mainstream popular kid, they will be an outsider. A few other things: the academics aren't that great anyway. They don't offer many electives, no dual credit, and very few true leadership opportunities. Food is low quality and college guidance is minimal compared to other private schools. Parents don't meet with college counselors until junior year. You can do better than TCA for the tuition. Maybe TCA was better a decade ago, but it has fallen behind in recent years.
