Trinity Christian Academy

We have loved our Mitchell Community, which is a caring, engaging and loving group of teachers, parents and the larger community. This Great Schools data is a little outdated. We are seeing academic growth for our scholars and lots of opportunities for the kids to participate in development opportunities with arts. The PTA is amazing and does so much to help create fun events and memories for our students. I know it just isn’t the same at other schools so I’m thankful to be part of this community.

The teacher really know their students and provide help for student progress

We have been disappointed in this school for our preK student. Way too much low-quality screen time without prior notice to the parents. On a weekly basis (sometimes more frequently than that), our student was shown cartoons during lunch and naptime (including Spidey, Super Kitties, and other similar shows). On at least one occasion, a full length PG rated movie was shown to the class of 4 and 5 year olds without prior notice to (or consent from) the parents. (On another occasion, parents received prior notice about a "movie day" but, again, a full length PG rated movie was shown without prior disclosure of that fact.) The school does a great job hosting the fun events and parents are very involved - the field day is great, as are various class parties and other events throughout the year. The theme days are fun as well. However, we have been extremely disappointed with the amount and type of screen time that has been shown and the lack of learning that goes on during class.

This year has been the worst experience. My child started 3rd grade with 3 teachers. One for home room and math, one for science and social studies and one for reading and language arts. The science and social studies teacher was taken from 3rd grade and moved to 5th. This left the 3rd graders with no one teaching them these subjects. After receiving several progress reports and a report card with missing grades, I reached out to his hometown teacher several times. There was no response or communication. I then reached out to his reading teacher only to find out his homework teacher/math teacher has resigned. Now he is left with just the reading and language arts teacher. There was no proper communication. My son still has missing grades but yet he is expected to take these tests and pass. This is not setting my child up for success. This is a set up for failure. It’s extremely frustrating. I will move to avoid him having to attend this school next year.

This woman works directly with an Alexandria Doyle, a child counselor who worked with my children in UP. Alexandria is about to serve 3 life sentences. I can’t find my oldest daughter and this school won’t tell me of her location. They kidnapped my daughter as far as I know. This school is awful.

Absolutely not. Save your kids the hassle.
