First two years were wonderful and great improvement on my son, he is above average. But good teachers left. This year in 4th grade he dropped the grades abruptly, first due to the teacher yelling at them all the time and not showing any interest on his improvement, also lack of communication with parents, second because a case of bullying harassment they neglected and caused severe health and mental issues to my kid. I had to go to superintendent to get a solution.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Blackshear Elementary. My child has truly blossomed here both academically and socially. The curriculum is thoughtful, challenging, and engaging, with a strong emphasis on learning and growth at every level.What really sets Blackshear apart, though, is the community. The teachers are warm, dedicated, and deeply invested in the success of each student. The parent community is just as welcoming and supportive, creating a true sense of partnership in our children’s education.Blackshear offers the best of both worlds: a rigorous academic environment within a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere. We feel so fortunate to be part of this school.

We have children in multiple grades at Campbell and have been more than pleased with the school! All the teachers are caring and work hard to ensure that my child is comfortable in the environment and grows academically. It is a diverse school where ALL students and families are valued. There are multiple programs that make this school unique including a full media production studio, creative action arts integration during and afterschool, performing arts programs including step, dance and cheer and prime-time after school/summer enrichment programs. My children have all found ways to be increasingly engaged in school through these programs. Principal Moore is an exemplary leader and the students and teachers thrive under his leadership. We appreciate how caring and firm he is with the students. The students know the expectations and are rewarded for their hard work. We are zoned to a highly ranked school and chose to do a transfer to Campbell after touring many campuses. We truly believe Campbell is a hidden gem and are happy that we found it!

First and foremost, the state test score data is incorrect. Govalle staff, parents and students worked so diligently to help students raise their academic standardized test scores, even though we understand the focus on tests should never be a school's #1 priority. In fact, Govalle out performed or was on par with all the area local charter schools (East Austin prep, UT Elementary, IDEA, KIPP) , even though Govalle serves 3x as many kiddos with special education needs. In the midst of that kind of pressure, Govalle manages to provide fine arts experiences for all kids, including musical performances and art exhibitions for each grade level, in addition to collaborations with Paramount Theatre and the UT Shakespeare outreach program. Govalle provides trauma-informed care for all students, and includes a junior counselor program. We have a dual-language program pilot for Prek-1st (next year includes 2nd grade) because they believe multilingualism can benefit students in the global economy and as compassionate citizens of the world. Govalle continues to build on STEM educational experiences with Engineering is Elementary curriculum, STEM building challenges, Science Fair and collaborations with the Thinkery. They provide field experiences in both the fine arts and sciences. They have a Dyslexia therapist onsite to provide strategic interventions, as well as a school psychologist available for the children. But most of all Govalle respects families and is an open campus most of the year, allowing parents to walk their children to class, eat lunch with them, and celebrate birthdays at the end of the day.

This school doesn't help the kids that need xtra help. Instead of helping my kid with her Reading they just let her fail. She received nothing but 3 and 4's all year long except Reading. They helped the Spanish speaking students, but not mine... they informed me all late in the year that my kid will be held back. I kept asking if there was any help at school? and they would say no. At the end of the year they inform me that they needed my permission to have her pulled out of the classroom to get her the help she needed, really with less than 6wks. ? and they still didn't really offer me to sign anything? ?... The bilingual program they offered just confused my kid and I my friends kid to this day... Her new teacher at her present has told me BY LAW with her low scores in Reading she should've got help not not retained another full year !! Especially since they knew about her low scores early in the year.. she feels my kid was cheated and I totally agree... She should've got her some help....

As a teacher at Cathedral School of Saint Mary, I am grateful to be part of a faith-filled Catholic school where students are truly known and supported. Our caring, nurturing teachers help students grow academically, socially, and spiritually in a God-loving, family-oriented community committed to living out our Catholic faith by serving God and our neighbors.
