This is a great school. The entire staff is awesome. They are always willing to go above and beyond to assist their students!

Currently, I have mixed opinion of Mill Creek Elementary. I’ve talked with other schools in the area to see what they have to offer and how they conduct business. Mill Creek doesn’t have as many programs as some schools, but they also have more/better programs that lesser schools don’t have.Con: At the beginning of the school year, there was some disorganization administration wise. They didn’t put their best foot forward for the first orientation. The lack of organization may have been a fluke, but if other orientations/meetings are as disorganized as the first one, a self-evaluation needs to be conducted because some internal processes are broken. Pro: Mill Creek Elementary seems to have some good incentives for the children to learn. They had a great “Night of Reading” a few months ago where the school taught parents ways of helping their children read. It was very good for parents and they had pizza for the children afterwards. I expected a bigger turnout from parents, but I thought the program was great. I would like to see something like that offered once a month.The school has various reading charts they give out that offer rewards such as free pizza or free USC basketball tickets if a certain number of books are read in a certain time period. They have a treasure box in my son’s class where if you help students or do very good on assignments you get points. Once you get a certain amount of points you can get something from the box. You can also lose points for being bad. It is a very good reward and punishment system to help build character for a child that age.It would be nice to have the school teach a life skills/parenting class for parents of students. That would most likely be too controversial though.

My daughter has thrived at Meadowfield ES. Her reading & math skills have improved tremendously and she adores her teachers. The teachers have been great and I know it’s been a tough 2 years for everyone but they are doing such a good job!

Our daughter has attended Asbury for both Pre-K and Kindergarten. I could not be more pleased with our decision to enroll her. What a relief it is to know she is in a loving, safe, supportive and challenging learning environment every day. The directors, teachers, and staff have made this program exceptional. We are so blessed to have found such a wonderful place. THANK YOU, ASBURY!!!

Pre-K year was great for my child....loved the teachers.....they were pleasant and as I stated invested into given their all into the children. When my child entered into Kindergarten....all of that changed. The beginning of the year started off great, then every little thing that my child did was being called out. I overlooked as much as I could as parent but when a child starts to question at 5 years old "why doesn't this child get sent to office when we both are doing the same thing" or your child comes home and says that he has to walk around with his hands in his pockets because this is what he was told by the school guidance counselor and lead teacher is a serious problem. Having a child apologize to another student because the student states that she felt intimidated because my child was looking at her (what 5 year old says that....those are the words put into a child's mouth by an adult) she will not be successful as adult when it's time for her to complete interviews nor will she have any public speaking strengths. Having a child write apology letters for his wrist accidently overlapping with another students wrist, writing apology letters for a lunch box accidently grazing against students while they are in a line.....these incidents shows that this school is setting these children up for complete failure when they enter into adulthood. There is no life skills being taught and these children are being programed with the attitude of entitlement.Being told by an administrator "because of your child size we feel the need to protect him". What are you protecting him from again??? (That question was never answered. This school was complete disappointment and I expected so much more for them.

Pierce Terrace Elementary School has been a blessing for our family. From day one, we felt welcomed not only by the staff and teachers, but by the entire school community. The environment is nurturing, inclusive, and safe—truly a place where children can thrive both academically and emotionally.The teachers go above and beyond to ensure each child feels valued and supported. They communicate well with parents and take the time to personalize learning, making sure no child is left behind. My child comes home excited to share what they’ve learned each day, and that joy says everything.What really stands out is the school’s strong emphasis on family engagement. We are consistently invited to participate in events, classroom activities, and school-wide programs. It’s clear that the school values parents as true partners in education.Pierce Terrace has created a culture built on kindness, respect, and community. Students learn not only math and reading but also how to be good human beings. I’ve witnessed the genuine care staff members show not just to the students, but to one another. It’s a place where relationships matter.If you’re looking for a school where your child will be seen, heard, and encouraged to shine, I wholeheartedly recommend Pierce Terrace Elementary School. It’s more than a school—it’s a family!
