As a two-mom, biracial household, we feel lucky that we found LFS, a school that respects and celebrates diversity. We appreciate that the teachers at LFS care about my our child's needs--both academically and socially. We love the fact that our child has the opportunity to attend a school that values the ideals of gentle teaching; a place where my child feels nurtured, respected, secure, seen and heard. Our daughter, currently in Pre-K, comes home so excited to teach us everything that she has learned. In short the school has been a great academic, social, and financial fit for our household.

This school is absolutely horrible!!!! Beware, specially if you have a student with special needs. I will give very little credit to the special education teachers for they do try to help. However, the school administration is very poor at what they do to support students that don’t fit their agenda as a scholar. They want to remove my daughter from her 3rd class room and put her in a second grade classroom because the teacher don’t want to work with her. They absolutely allow bullying even though they are supposed to be a no bullying school and when the student who has been bullied respond they then want to suspend the student. Let me add they want to give the parents a quick call and say your child is suspended without recording it, so it looks like you the parent is keeping your child from school.Now, if you have a child with special needs definitely reconsider this school, I did everything and got all the medical paperwork for my daughter to get a support staff, and was told to get the support staff through my health insurance, after many ups and downs and having to contact the department of education, which told me the school should provide the support staff my daughter finally got a support staff and actually got into more problems than she did with out her staff. They have no ABA professional on hands to help students, administrators at this school will just use fundings to make themselves look good and act like they are better than the school district, but in fact they are much worse.Their policy is to call parents daily instead of putting a system in place to help students that have ADHD or autism but yet they get the same funding as the school district. Even though my daughter have medical supporting documentation of her ADHD this school called me after school hours to say they are suspending her because she pushed another student who did not provoke her, lies!! In fact she was defending herself because the student actually hit her first and my student has a support staff, so how is all this going on? Where is the staff.Lastly!!! They discriminate against special needs students so much, they are not allowed to participate in after school activities or attend class trips, even with a one on one staff. Then they try to hide what they are doing behind their fake protocols. Why even take money from the school districts when y’all can’t help the students and then suggest the school district for better support? This school needs to be shutdown.
