7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is probably the most beautiful school building in Philadelphia The walls are marble, the ceilings are high and arched, and there are beautiful statues lining the gorgeous hallways. The students are dazzled by the sheer beauty of their surroundings. The teachers are nice and friendly and they give special attention to students with developmental needs. A lovely school overallOther Review2y ago9 Reviews - Gideon Edward School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGiddeon building conditions for the opening day of school (August 25, 2025) was horrible!!! The school district, administrators, and maintenance staff should be ashamed that they would allow ANYONE to come in that building and expect learning to go on. Live and dead mice throughout the building, fleas and rodents are visible all throughout the classrooms, hallways, and bathrooms. Several classrooms still had the same “trash” that was left behind in May. Student and staff bathrooms are FILTHY and only toilet rolls are replaced. No cleaning at all and the majority of sinks are stopped up! The first 3 days, several students and staff left early due to sickness related to these horrible conditions. How does the district and administrators expect teaching and learning to go on with these conditions!!! They need to relocate these students and staff until a thorough deep deep cleaning is done by a professional cleaning service. Philadelphia School District and Administrators should be embarrassed and ashamed for these poor students, teachers, and staff!!! Will involve news and media next if issued not resolved immediately!!Parent Review8mo ago6 Reviews - Kelley William D School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is one of the worst un professional School's I have ever seen. School starts early this year and most parent's weren't even notified some parent's including myself found out by other parent's spreading the rumor in the neighborhood.Parent Review11y ago3 Reviews - Meade Gen George C School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is by far one of the worsts schools in the area of Philadelphia, Children are basically eating cardboard lunches.. Most of the teachers are not qualified to teach. The special needs programs are a joke!. They treat their students horrible. Bullying is very active in the school by students and staff alike. The Autism support class program is garbage... The whole staff has to be fired and replaced!!!Parent Review6y ago5 Reviews - Morris Robert School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei have been going to sfx since i was in kindergarten and it has been quite the experience. there are some amazing teachers there that i really built a great relationship with, while other teachers are a whole different story… Our principal can be very nice at times, but doesn’t really care to welcome certain families, let alone being there for over 40 years and now about to retire from her post as principal. As a student of color, sfx is a predominantly white school with not many students of color in almost every grade. sometimes i feel that i cant be myself even if i wanted to. the classes are small and i feel that you dont get to know many people, but from personal experience the students are very nice and ive made really good friends. i will be graduating next year and hope the school could be more accepting and welcoming to certain students and families.Student Review4mo ago5 Reviews - White Dove Performing Arts Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis preschool is a horrible place for both children and staff. The school is poorly managed and extremely unorganized. The teachers are understaffed and do not have classroom management skills or the resources to fix the situation. Your child will not be taught anything while here. The children are not treated well. Many of the children are violent, aggressive, struggling with developmental disabilities, or extreme behavioral issues. There is no behavioral specialist or special needs services to address this. Children become physically and verbally violent and aggressive with each other and towards teachers. Nothing is done about the behavior and the kids run wild around the school. There is no established system to restrain violent or runaway children, and they can sometimes be mishandled. DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE! They will fall behind academically, pick up bad habits and behaviors from others, and mistreated.Parent Review5y ago6 Reviews
