Read what parents are saying about Kirkland Elementary SchoolThis year Kirkland went from a K-5 school to a PK-2 school and got a new principal and staff. My child was enrolled at the same school where Kirkland's principal and staff used to work, but that school (a PK-K school) was closed. I chose to transfer my child along with Principal Ashley Hoggatt and her other staff because they are amazing people. My son is in special ed, and we moved my daughter to Kirkland (2nd grade) as well. The special ed teacher Christy Gammon is incredibly kind and involved in our son's life. The 2nd grade has just two classes with very experienced teachers and small numbers. It's a multi-cultural school in the best way. I love that my kids are going to be friends with kids of many other cultures. The new office staff has also been very helpful and kind. As a new Kirkland transfer parent, I've had a lot of questions. Everyone is wonderful and helpful. I see a very bright future for Kirkland. It's definitely on its way up in ratings in Putnam City Schools thanks to its great new Principal, staff, and restructuring.
Posted by a parent on 8/30/2016It's my sons first year to attend Kirkland. They previously attended private school. I was apprehensive but right off the bat I have been extremely pleased with the whole aspect of the school. The students are very well behaved and communication between the school and parents is outstanding. There is a wonderful community that surrounds Kirkland and it's needs.
Posted by a parent on 11/20/2014DDK has had a lot of change in the past three years. We have had three different principals and several teacher changes. BUT, the school is very small (just at 300 students), the technology is stellar (Mac lab, ipads and Mac computers in every classroom) and the playground was redone in 2012. The PTA membership continues to grow and board does great things for the students/staff. The music program and other specials are incredible. We considered private school due to the changes, but are glad we stayed as this year we went from a C to a B grade. Overall we have been very happy with the learning environment, despite all the changes, and are proud to be a DDK Pirate family!

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are kind of suspicious enrolling at James Monroe Elementary at first after reading some reviews. But after our daughter attended here for 6 years from Pre K thru 4th grade, there no one single bully for our daughter, and she has learnt a lot from all the teachers, therefore all we have to say that we were very satisfied, very thankful, and very grateful for your moral guidance, caring, but most importantly you all have made a big difference in children’s lives every day from Mr. Eric Meador (Principal), Mrs. Kandy Bishop (Principal), Mr. Edwards (assistant Principal) to Mrs. Moad (Pre K teacher), Ms. Candace (Mrs. Moad's assistant teacher), Mrs. Rivera (Kindergarten), Ms. Donker (1st grade), Ms. Harrison (2nd grade), Ms. Varnell (3rd grade), Ms. Davis-Gordon (4th grade), Mrs. Buck (PE teacher), Ms. Ann Labay (Art teacher), Ms. Rosenberg (Gifted and Talented teacher), Ms. Wigger (Music teacher), Mr Snow (Music teacher replacement), and all the staff. Thank you thank you!!Parent Review1y ago - Sequoyah Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThing are changing at Arbor Grove. The school doesn't allow visitors. I feel after the school shootings this could be a good thing. The school has good and bad teachers. The school will receive a new principal for the 2022 2023 school year. With the staff change maybe the school will have a new start.Parent Review1y ago - Coronado Heights Elementary School
