Ps 87 Middle Village

In my experience, this school not provides an environment safe from violence, discrimination, and harsh punishment. And Principal don’t do anything to figure-out of situations.Not welcoming parents to come and talk, not happy to see parents at school, when they are coming to talk,figure out. the principal may believe one student , but not another , and blame him

This school is incredible. We could not be luckier to have our 2 children go here. Our older son has gotten a phenomenal education at 87, perfect grades and has amazing teachers and staff guide him from pre-k to 8th grade. Our younger son goes here and will be going here for a while. We are beyond happy that our youngest will receive the same education. The Principal is so hands on with everything, knows all of students by name as well as their parents. She is extremely diligent with the health and safety of all children and staff. The staff is so involved and communication is great at this school. Teachers are just incredible and keep parents up to speed on their childrens education. This has to be one of the best schools in NYC to send your children to from prek -8. Sending kids to school is not easy nowadays, this school and the people who run it make me comfortable sending my kids to school.

I am very impressed with the staff of this school, I have two children one child in the middle school and one child in a younger grade. I have single handedly witnessed the principal take care of small and large problems with grace and ease. Problems occur in every school and it’s good to know that when they do occur she is on top of it and takes care of it. At the same time she welcomes everyone to immediate access to her. She even gives out her personal cell number!!!!!

A parent blamed my son for an incident and went after him with a vengeance. The principal advocated for my child against a bully and the child’s bully parents. She had the police come and make a report because when my son called the police they wouldn’t make a report. When the principal spoke to the police it became a big deal and then everyone took things seriously. Even my son said she really cares. Thank God we have someone that fights for our kids. Great school. Great staff. Great principal.

I am a parent of a seventh grade student and a kindergarten student. I have had so many great experiences with this school. They are inclusive of all parents even during the pandemic. On the day of the Halloween parade the school streamlined it to Zoom for the working parents.. The principal is always available to speak with any time of the day or night. In all the years my kids have been attending this school there has never been any bullying. Both of my kids love this school.
