Read what parents are saying about St Margaret SchoolSchool administrators, teachers and other staff are all respectful and caring. Students are very sweet and respectful as well. Catholic values are instilled here. Smaller classes and individual attention is given to students. Definitely recommend this school!
Posted by a community member on 1/17/2022It is shameful that the teachers do not attend any of the family events, such as the Halloween party, and "family fun night" which begins with the band playing Christmas songs. It is disappointing to the students to look out and not see their teachers at a school event. It shows a lack of school spirit. The only two you will see are the principal, Dr. Franco, and the assistant principal, Ms. Richardson. At the "grandparents day" performance, the younger grades sing songs for the grandparents. This year, the grandparents made their way to the performance through a pretty serious snowfall. The two administrators, Dr. Franco and Ms. Richardson were NOT there. No one thanked the grandparents for coming and no one made an introduction. The first teacher just stood up and had her class start singing. The classes were supposed to sing one at a time, and remain quiet while the other classes sang, but the teachers had trouble controlling them. Again, at the end, the grandparents were not thanked for coming. It was very unprofessional, especially since the administrators didn't support the event.
Posted by a parent on 4/1/2015My child has been attending St.Margaret's since mom's and tots. She is in the 7th grade and I am so proud of her and how well she does. The teachers have such caring interests in their students, and they are dedicated to their work. We all participate together as one big family and with that being said I'm happy that we are all a part of it!!
Posted by a parent on 3/22/2015I have one child who graduated St.Margaret, one still there and one entering. I am so very happy with everything the school has to offer. The Principal is fantastic! He is hands-on, thinking of new and exciting ways to have the children excited about their education. He has implemented new clubs into to school , Junior-Beta Society, Golf, Math club, Spanish, Drama and so much more. As a teacher myself, I look for certain things in a child's education and St.Margaret's has everything. My children are safe, happy, and smart. They don't suffer the stress that public school children have. I adore being an educator and watching children learn and grow, its upsetting when you see them nervous and frightened about a State exam and knowing it will decide if they pass or fail for the year. With the Public School System adding test after test, I am grateful that my children attend St.Margaret's and will never be subject to such anxiety!
Posted by a parent on 5/10/2012St. Margaret School has been a great experience for us. Our child has been attending this school for ten years, one more to go. She has had wonderful, experienced teachers and the opportunity to do many things. The school offers many sports; after school clubs where the students interact with one another in small groups; a school band where they can pick an instrument of their choice and learn not just how to play but read music. It also offers membership into honor clubs. If you want to learn, everything is possible.

And Principal don’t do anything to figure-out of situations. Not welcoming parents to come and talk, not happy to see parents at school, when they are coming to talk, figure out. the principal may believe one student , but not another , and blame himParent Review5mo ago - Ps 91 Richard Arkwright

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Kindergarten Program in this School is absolutely horrible, every single day kids are getting very annoying and difficult homework that requires the use of glue and scissors. My 3rd grader needed additional help getting prepared for the State Exam, the School created an additional Tutoring Program for the State Exam that started at 7AM !! It was impossible for me to bring my daughter for this Program because I had little kids at home. On top of that, all year long my daughter wasn’t learning anything in her class while having Two Teachers in the classroom, and there was no Writing Homework all Year , for 3rd Grade!!! Terrible School.Parent Review10mo ago - Ps 102 Bayview

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePS 58 is a great school - probably one of the best in the city. Parents are encouraged to engage with their children, and it is necessary for them to spend a few hours per night completing homework. If you want your child to be successful at this school, homework and being prepared is very necessary. The principal is good and fair. There may be a few teachers that need to communicate better, but overall, this is a great school. Kids must have a homework schedule at home - a few hours per night. If they don't know how to do something than Google it!Parent Review7mo ago - Our Lady Of Hope Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible school. My daughter was bullied and the principal did nothing to fix the situation.I am still waiting on a meeting she promised my daughter and I regarding this. She does not have an open door policy. She is always "busy".Kids are super cliquey and the girls are catty in her grade .The principal and teachers play favorites.Academics is to be desired as some teachers should of retired a long time ago.Thank God I transferred her to a better school.Parent Review1y ago - Ascension School
