Brooklyn High School of the Arts

Was surprised to see some of the prior reviews. My child has made a sweet group of friends across the past few years at PS 133 and is excited to go to school every day. Student body is diverse and complex: consists of Gen ed, Spanish DLP, French DLP, and ICT classrooms. Very international school alongside families with deep roots in brooklyn. Great parent involvement and afterschool options.

2 of my kids have been at the school the last few years. It is a great school - the teachers in particular have been excellent

This has been a very challenging school year and 38 completely exceeded my expectations. My son in Kindergarten (the non-gifted classroom) left reading above grade level, loved his teacher and friends, and thrived during a really difficult and confusing time. He's been doing even better since we have gone to 5 days per week. Im very appreciative of my experience at 38 for the past 2 years.

This school so great if you’re not a person of color or your kid is neurotypical.

This is an excellent school. The principal and teachers are is very interested and involved in the students academic and character development. The teachers are qualified and well trained. The school has a history of producing great students, some who have matriculated to specialized high schools, over the decades. Many professionals in the work force have been educated at this school. This school builds a strong foundation within its students academically, mentally and spiritually. Faculty support and encourage the students. The classes are small and the students get a lot of much needed attention. My child attended this school for 10 years (Pre-K - 8th Grade) and just recently graduated in June 2020. I also attended this school and it was a pleasure to see experience that good quality private elementary education still existed for my child's generation and hopefully generations to come.
