Read what parents are saying about Brooklyn College AcademyThis school is an the best kept secret of Brooklyn. My daughter went there and graduated his year. She is offto Suny, Albany. BAC prepares their students for all parts of life. She was academically prepared.. She took all A.P. Courses thatchallenged her thinking and prepared her to do college level work. Outside of academics, her teachers were there for any questions,or things she needed to speak to an adult about. I'm so happy that she graduated BAC. The school is clean, beautiful, and looks new. Theyhave two campuses and by the time you get to 11th grade the second campus, she told me she felt like a college student. She loved it. I don'tthink BAC is for every child. They have to want to go to college because they should take advantage of BAC's college level courses. She graduated with over 20 college credits. This saves her time and money. BAC teachers expect a lot from their students and I like that. This school is not one of theschools you take the test to get into. But it should be, since it is not, this is why you should try to get your child into BAC!!!
Posted by a parent on 8/5/2021It was good I didn't have to much to complain about except the fact that we don't get respect from some of the teachers
Posted by a student on 8/19/2018This is a great school my son went here for one year but after coming from a larger school he did not like it so he moved with his dad and transfered. I think this is a great school for any student coming in as a freshmen as they won't feel lost and the smaller setting and student body is more welcoming. The school is very structured and the teachers and staff are familiar with each student since the school is small. Students also have the ability to gain College credits once they go to the Brooklyn College Campus in which i feel is a great opportunity.
Posted by a parent on 6/25/2014For the most part, the teachers are fine. However, once the students get to campus, some of the "college classes " aren't taught by actual professors and most are entry level bc staff. The psychology professor, Amanda, my daughter told me is very good. And please have your kids be careful on social mediamedia, even private, because the school is small and worry about the personal aspects as well.
Posted by a parent on 6/18/2014I go to this school now and it is a great opportunity. It is fun with the people in it and its easy to make friends. By the time I enter college, I will be in my sophomore year. So that's less money to spend!

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool does not accommodate students with disabilities. Parents are routinely blamed for any emotional issues students with disabilities may experience. School is oblivious about a trauma-informed approach to education. Admin is a nightmare. Principal is an egomaniac with a personal agenda that conflicts with student progress and success. District really needs to clean house here. Enrollment continues to decline year after year.Parent Review1y ago - Ps 130 The Parkside

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot express how much I love this school and how grateful I am that my son attends PS 130. He's had some of the most wonderful teachers and the chess program is incredible and has propelled him into another universe for the better. He wouldn't have been exposed to chess through any other means and through that he's learned how to navigate loss, built confidence, and sharpened his strategic capabilities. The PS 130 community is amazing, diverse, and welcoming. My only critique is I sometimes feel there could be more homework or a tiny bit more focus on academics -- but I wouldn't send him anywhere else. He's getting a well-rounded education and is surrounded by tons of caring staff and feels supported. Test scores don't give the full picture. Thank you, PS 130!Parent Review2mo ago - Ps 230 Doris L Cohen

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur family joined International Christian school in 2021 and it has been a huge success with our kids academics and social emotional development. Everyone on staff is very attentive and professional. Classes are small which is a great environment for learning. Curriculum is rich and very engaging. Recently the school location was moved to Carroll Gardens and its such an amazing, well lit and spacious facility. There are several very good playgrounds in the area for afterschool unwind. One of our children is uncompromised so having spacious facility and small class size is very beneficial.Parent Review1y ago
