The new administration is vile…. Bring back Miss Jerome. This is my son’s 3rd year here, he is diagnosed with OCD and of course they’re in elementary and have behavioral issues sometimes. But this new singling my child out and suspending him for something all the other kids are also doing? Then a grown man raising his voice and scaring my child so badly he was crying for 3 hours after school? Disgusting. This school was so amazing, it’s turned to absolute garbage with this new administration.

Lummis Elementary school is a place where students are provided with experiences to enrich their minds, social skills and learn to be outstanding citizens in the community. Students are surrounded by faculty who demonstrate exceptional dedication to their profession. Community outreach experiences provide Lummis Lasers with an opportunity to look past themselves and find joy in caring for others. The PTA is a wonderful bridge between school and home- always organizing activities to engage families in their students education. The administration is passionate about what’s best for kids. They set high expectations for behavior, which has unfortunately become lax in other schools. This allows for maximized learning time with minimized interruptions. If you are looking for a place to be an equal partner in your child’s education and part of a community with a shared focus on creating life long learners, Lummis is the place for you.

The school is amazing! I have one child who has matriculated through kinder-5th, and one child is currently enrolled. His teachers were supportive and helpful. Through each grade level, I saw them take the time to learn their learning style and accommodate them to the best of their ability. The principal knows both my children's names and faces. At every event we attend, she ensures she says hello and addresses them by name. She always communicates with me directly if any issues arise and works collaboratively with me to address the issue at home and at school, so my children feel supported and understood while also understanding real-life consequences to their actions. The counselor there is always readily available, even just to be an ear to listen to any concerns they have. The front office staff is always kind and respectful, and works with a sense of urgency that is hard to find. It's nice to know that my children are surrounded by other adults who not only support them but also are rooting for them to be their best selves
