Read what parents are saying about Jan Jones Blackhurst Elementary SchoolMy son came as a 1st grader and is a 5th grader. We have loved our time at JJB! Principal Boccia is always available to help hear your concerns and makes great suggestions for resolutions. All our teachers are phenomenal (Roseberry, Thein, Franchino, Newkirk & Greenhalgh)! There are many therapy dogs on campus. They really help with the social/emotional aspects for the kids. We had part of 2nd and all of 3rd grade during COVID closures and I was so impressed how dedicated and supportive the staff was of the students. My son is in GATE and enjoys it. The school is diverse. There is a large community of Filipino families, which we love.

They have a new psychologist this year who lacks experience, is condescending and doesn't really listen to parent concerns. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYou have to beg to have any type of feedback on your child. My child was punch during recess and they wanted to suspend him as well, victimize the victim. The administration DOES NOT communicate with parents UNLESS it's to get $ from you. Never answer emails, and the front desk is RUDE with an ATTITUDE. Extremely unprofessional.
